Norway Women and Iceland Women meet in final round of the Women’s Euro 2025 group stage at Arena Thun on Thursday 10th July at 8pm (UK time). Norway have already sealed their spot in the quarter-finals, while Iceland are out. This game will be broadcast live in the UK on BBC iPlayer. Find our match preview and best bets below.

Norway Women to win (6/5 with bet365)

Blessed with some of the game’s great players, Norway are considered lively outsiders for the title in Switzerland this summer.

Barcelona’s Caroline Graham Hansen and Lyon’s former Ballon d’Or Feminin winner Ada Hegerberg are two of the big names in this Norway squad and both players have already found the back of the net in the tournament.

There was nothing separating these two teams in their most recent meetings in the Nations League in April and May, as both games ended in draws.

However, Norway have built up some winning momentum and even if Grainger does decide to make some changes to her lineup, her squad should still have the depth to send Iceland home with little to cheer about from their time in Switzerland.

Ada Hegerberg anytime goalscorer and Karolina Vilhjalmsdottir 2+ shots on target  (17/2 with bet365)

Hegerberg’s confidence will be up after her goalscoring performance in the opener against Switzerland in Basel.

She has featured in both of Norway’s games in this tournament and the Lyon star is likely to continue leading the line on Thursday.

Given her quality and Iceland’s leaky defence at this competition, backing Hegerberg to find the net in the anytime-scorer market appeals.

In the second part of this bet builder selection, look to Karolina Vilhjalmsdottir to have at least two shots on target for Iceland.

The former Bayern Munich forward has recently joined Inter Milan after impressing for Iceland in the Nations League.

Scoring four goals during that Nations League campaign for her country, Vilhjalmsdottir should be able to keep the Norwegian defence busy and can get at least a couple of shots on target during the game at Stockhorn Arena.

How both teams go into Norway vs Iceland

Having won their opening two games of the tournament, Norway are already guaranteed top spot in Group A and the knockout stage awaits manager Gemma Grainger and her side.

A comeback 2-1 win over hosts Switzerland and a 2-1 victory over fellow Nordic side Finland has taken the Norwegians to the summit of Group A with a game to go.

In contrast, back-to-back defeats for Iceland means they only have pride to play for going into this final game, with no chance of reaching the knockouts.

Losing 1-0 to Finland in Thun, a 2-0 defeat to the Swiss at Stadion Wankdorf ended Iceland’s hopes of reaching the quarter-finals.

Grainger will be eager for Norway to keep up their winning momentum heading into the quarters and Iceland might well find themselves on the losing side once again in Thun.

Norway team news

With Group A’s top spot already locked in, Norway boss Gemma Grainger might opt to shake things up for their final group-stage clash.

There’s a strong possibility we’ll see fresh faces in the starting XI, including Maren Mjelde, Signa Gaupset, Lisa Naalsund, and Celine Bizet—all candidates to step into more prominent roles.

Elisabeth Terland, the Manchester United forward, could also be handed her first start of the tournament, particularly if star striker Ada Hegerberg is given a breather ahead of the quarter-final showdown.

Iceland team news

Turning to Iceland, Hildur Antonsdottir is available once again after completing her one-match suspension from a red card on opening day and could slot back into the starting lineup.

Saedis Heidarsdottir looks set to step in for Gudny Arnadottir, who had to leave the pitch early during the 2-0 loss to Switzerland.

Up front, Leicester City’s Hlin Eiriksdottir may be drafted into the attack alongside Sveindis Jonsdottir and Sandra Jessen, as Iceland continue their hunt for a first goal in the competition.

These two sides have already faced off twice this year, with two draws in the Uefa Nations League.
