How both teams go into Tottenham vs Brighton
Tottenham’s start under Roberto De Zerbi could hardly have gone worse, with a 16th Premier League defeat of the season at Sunderland adding to a winless run that now stretches to 14 league games in 2026. The loss also came with a major setback as Cristian Romero suffered a season ending knee injury, leaving Spurs short again at the back.
Despite slight signs of improvement, results are not following and Spurs remain in trouble near the bottom of the table with just six games left. Their home form has been especially poor, with only 10 points collected all season, although a recent Champions League win at Atletico Madrid offered a brief lift in an otherwise bleak campaign.
Brighton arrive in red hot form, collecting nine points from their last three Premier League matches, a total higher than Tottenham’s entire haul at home this season. Fabian Hurzeler’s side have beaten Sunderland, Liverpool and Burnley in that run, with Mats Wieffer starring in a 2-0 win at Turf Moor.
The Seagulls have taken 15 points from their last six league games, the best record in the division over that period, and sit just two points off the top six.
