Tottenham haven’t won away at Chelsea in over three decades, and the pair face off once again the Premier League at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday. A victory for the visitors would guarantee safety and would send West Ham down to the Championship. Find our match preview and best bets below.
Best Bets & Predictions
| Our Prediction | Odds & Bookmaker | Confidence | Why I’m Backing It |
|---|---|---|---|
| Enzo Fernandez to be carded | 10/3 @ Bet365 (23.1%) | ⭐⭐⭐⭐ | Backing cards is often a wise wager when Chelsea face Spurs and Stuart Attwell takes the whistle for this one with an average of 4.63 cards per game this season. Enzo Fernande was booked on Sunday in the FA Cup final and looks a prime candidate for another here. The World Cup winner has been booked in nine Premier League matches this season and at 10/3 looks good value in a game that usually has a high card-count. |
| Moises Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez to be Carded | 10/1 @ Bet365 (9.1%) | ⭐⭐⭐⭐ | Chelsea have been shown the third most yellow cards and the most red cards in the Premier League this season. For those looking for a bigger price, pair Caicedo to be carded with Fernandez. The Ecuadorian has been shown a whopping 12 cards in the league this season, the joint-most along with James Garner and Andre of Wolves. |

How both teams go into Chelsea vs Tottenham
Chelsea moved quickly after their FA Cup final defeat to Manchester City by appointing Xabi Alonso on a four year deal. The Blues were competitive at Wembley and caused City problems for long spells, but Antoine Semenyo’s clever finish proved the difference in a narrow 1-0 loss.
European qualification remains possible for Chelsea despite their struggles in recent weeks. A draw at Liverpool ended a six match losing run in the Premier League, but the Blues are still under pressure at Stamford Bridge, where another defeat would see them lose five straight home league games for the first time in their history.

Tottenham arrive in improved form under Roberto De Zerbi and are unbeaten in four Premier League matches. Spurs remain locked in the relegation battle, but strong away results have kept them above the bottom three, with only Arsenal and Manchester City winning more away league games this season.
Even so, Stamford Bridge has been a difficult ground for Tottenham in recent years. Spurs have not won a Premier League match there since 2018 and will need to improve on recent results against Chelsea if they are to take a major step towards survival.
Chelsea team news
Chelsea are sweating over the fitness of Joao Pedro after the forward picked up a leg problem during the FA Cup final against Manchester City. Jesse Derry, Estevao Willian and Jamie Gittens remain unavailable through injury, while Mykhaylo Mudryk continues to serve a suspension. There was better news elsewhere for the Blues, with Pedro Neto, Alejandro Garnacho and Robert Sanchez all returning to action at Wembley, and Neto could now come into the starting XI if Reece James is rested.
Tottenham team news
Tottenham Hotspur welcomed James Maddison back from injury against Leeds United, with the midfielder making his first appearance of the season after recovering from an ACL problem. Maddison came off the bench late on and is unlikely to be ready for a start just yet, despite feeling he should have won a penalty in the closing stages.
Spurs still have several injury concerns, with Xavi Simons, Wilson Odobert, Dejan Kulusevski, Mohammed Kudus and Cristian Romero all sidelined. Dominic Solanke, Ben Davies and Guglielmo Vicario are carrying knocks, although none of the trio have been ruled out of Tuesday’s clash.

Can Chelsea Exploit Spurs’ Defensive Woes? Final Thoughts
Spurs have the incentive of safety here, but meetings with Chelsea can often be unpredictable. Cards are usually on the menu when these two meet so back Fernandez to be carded at 10/3 or pair him with Caicedo for a nice double at 10/1.
