Manchester City will be hoping to keep their Premier League title hopes alive when they travel to face Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday at 4:30pm.
Pep Guardiola’s men sit second in the table and are only four points behind league leaders Arsenal. But they will feel like the gap could have been closer after a poor run of results.
Man City predicted lineup vs Tottenham
Man City (4-1-4-1): Donnarumma; Nunes, Khusanov, Guehi, O’Reilly; Rodri; Semenyo, Silva, Reijnders, Cherki; Haaland.
Prior to their win over Wolverhampton Wanderers last weekend, Man City had gone winless in four in the league, drawing three and losing one.
And they face a team that have already beaten them at the Etihad this season.

Man City team news vs Tottenham
Man City are dealing with some injury issues. But they have counteracted those with their transfer dealings. Marc Guehi will return to the defence having been ineligible for the Champions League. He’ll partner Abdukodir Khusanov at the heart of the Man City defence with Ruben Dias, John Stones and Josko Gvardiol all out injured.
Matheus Nunes and Nico O’Reilly are likely to be the full-backs, though Rayan Ait-Nouri and Nathan Ake are options for the left. Rodri should continue at the base of Man City’s midfield, starting ahead of Nico Gonzalez, who made his return from injury with a cameo appearance in midweek.
The rest of the makeup of Man City’s midfield could change. But Bernardo Silva and Tijjani Reijnders look to be first-choice for the more central positions, with Phil Foden appearing to have fallen out of favour again.

Antoine Semenyo should start of the right having also been ineligible for the midweek Champions League game. Rayan Cherki is likely to start on the left with Jeremy Doku having to come off injured in midweek. The Belgian is expected to be out for a few weeks.
Although Omar Marmoush has returned from the Africa Cup of Nations, Erling Haaland will lead the line.
Savinho and Mateo Kovacic are Man City’s other injury absentees.
Man City’s dropping away form
When Man City were dominating the Premier League, they were building on good away form. The Citizens averaged 2.13 points per game away from home across the 2022-23 and 2023-24 seasons, the best return of any Premier League side.
But since the start of the 2024-25 season, the Citizens rank sixth in the Premier League for away form. They have taken 46 points from 30 matches on the road, averaging 1.53 per game. While being sixth isn’t bad, it is the difference between taking the title and finishing below par.
Man City have lost four of their 11 away league games this season, drawing another two. Those defeats have come at Old Trafford, St James’ Park, Villa Park and the Amex. Two of those have been fortresses this season, but defeats on the road against Brighton and Hove Albion and Manchester United have felt poor. There was also the goalless draw at the Stadium of Light, though Sunderland are unbeaten at home in the league this season.
As a positive, Man City have won their past two away league games against Tottenham. But they haven’t won three away games in a row against Tottenham for over 50 years.
