Group B was one of the most entertaining in the group stages of Euro 2024 and it went right down to the wire with Italy eliminating Croatia with a last-gasp equaliser on Matchday Three.

Group B Fixtures and Results

Spain flexed their considerable muscle in Group B from the off, starting with a 3-0 victory over Croatia and following that up with further 1-0 wins over Italy and Albania to top the group with maximum points and no goals conceded. Italy were able to beat Albania on Matchday One, whereas Croatia were only able to draw 2-2 with the Red and Blacks. That left Vatreni needing to beat the Azzurri in the final game to qualify and they so nearly did, but a late Mattia Zaccagni equaliser saw Luciano Spalletti’s men squeeze through.

Group B Odds

Spain were the marginal favourites to top Group B in what looked like one of the most open Euro 2024 groups. In the end, they were comfortable winners of the group, beating all three of their opponents without conceding a goal. The rest of the group also went the way of the odds with Italy finishing second, Croatia third and Albania fourth.
