Chelsea will be looking to add more silverware to their collection at the 2025 Fifa Club World Cup.
The Blues lifted this trophy back in the 2021 edition when, as reigning Champions League holders, Kai Havertz’s extra-time penalty saw off Brazilian side Palmeiras 2-1.
Enzo Maresca’s side are fresh from winning their first silverware since then, after landing the Conference League crown at the end of May.
Chelsea appeared in trouble when they fell behind against Real Betis, but recovered with four second-half goals to eventually run out commanding 4-1 victors in Wroclaw.
That was the icing on the cake of what was ultimately a successful season for the Blues who, despite their critics, finished fourth in the Premier League and, thus, secured their Champions League return.
Chelsea were drawn in Group D alongside Brazilian side Flamengo, Esperance de Tunis of Tunisia and MLS club Los Angeles FC. And they’ve made it all the way to the final.
Read on to find out when and where the Blues will be in action.
Chelsea Club World Cup 2025 group stage results
Group D – Matchday One
Date | Fixture | Ground |
---|---|---|
16/06/2025 (8pm UK time) | Chelsea 2-0 Los Angeles FC | Mercedes-Benz Stadium, Atlanta |
Chelsea were made to work for their win but ultimately came through their test against LAFC with a vital three points. Neto opened the scoring not long before half time before Enzo Fernandez netting 10 minutes from time to seal the win
Group D – Matchday Two
Date | Fixture | Ground |
---|---|---|
20/06/2025 (7pm UK time) | Flamengo 3-1 Chelsea | Lincoln Financial Field, Philadelphia |
Chelsea took the lead against Flamengo in what many expected to be the decider for Group D winners. And that proved to be the case. But to the surprise of many, it was Flamengo who came out on top. The Brazilian side came from a goal down to beat Chelsea 3-1, with the Blues ending the match a man down after Nicolas Jackson’s second red card in four games.
Group D – Matchday Three
Date | Fixture | Ground |
---|---|---|
25/06/2025 (2am UK time) | Esperance Tunis 0-3 Chelsea | Lincoln Financial Field, Philadelphia |
Chelsea only needed to avoid defeat against Esperance Tunis to seal their spot in the last 16. The Blues were made to wait for their opening goal, coming in the third minute of first-half stoppage time. But they went into the break 2-0 up, with Liam Delap adding to Tosin Adarabioyo’s opener. Tyrique George scored late on to cap off the win and a second-placed finish for Chelsea.

Last 16
Date | Fixture | Ground |
---|---|---|
28/06/2025 (9pm UK time) | Benfica 1-4 Chelsea (AET) | Bank of America Stadium, Charlotte |
It worked out for Chelsea that finishing second may have been better than coming first. The Blues faced Benfica in the last 16 — avoiding Bayern Munich who ended up finishing second in Group C. And they were well worth their 4-1 win, even though it was a bit laboured in the end. Chelsea looked set to seal a 1-0 win but a weather delay halted their route to victory. When play returned for the final five minutes, Chelsea conceded a penalty which was converted by Angel Di Maria. The game went to extra time, but Chelsea eventually got over the line.
Quarter-finals
Date | Fixture | Ground |
---|---|---|
05/07/2025 (2am UK time) | Palmeiras 1-2 Chelsea | Lincoln Financial Field, Philadelphia |
The quarter-finals brought a repeat of the 2021 Club World Cup Final. Then, goals from Romelu Lukaku and Kai Havertz were enough to earn Chelsea their first Club World Cup success after extra-time. And the same scoreline did the job for Chelsea this time around. The Blues didn’t need extra-time in 2025, but a Cole Palmer strike and a late own goal did the job.
Semi-finals
Date | Fixture | Ground |
---|---|---|
08/07/2025 (8pm UK time) | Fluminense 0-2 Chelsea | MetLife Stadium, East Rutherford |
It was another Brazilian side for Chelsea in the semi-finals, with Fluminense awaiting. Joao Pedro was the star for Chelsea, netting a goal in either half against his former club. The Blues are now just one win away from being crowned world champions, and look to have found their tactical footing under Maresca.
Final
Date | Fixture | Ground |
---|---|---|
13/07/2025 (8pm UK time) | Chelsea vs Paris Saint-Germain | MetLife Stadium, East Rutherford |
There were no easy opponents for the final. Chelsea face defending European champions Paris Saint-Germain for the honour of being named the best in the world. Chelsea have played eight games against PSG, winning two alongside three draws and three defeats. But it’s been nine years since they last met.
