The first selection in our Champions League Acca Tips is for Atalanta to beat Club Brugge, with both teams scoring. First legs of knockout ties can traditionally be low-scoring, however a conservative approach isn’t really in Atalanta’s nature and they can rack up the goals, just as they did on Saturday with a 5-0 hammering of Verona.
Atalanta could be being slightly overlooked by the market. The current Europa League holders have a lot more experience than Brugge at this stage of a major European tournament and despite the Belgians having some good results at home this season, the visitors can come out on top.
Celtic vs Bayern Munich – Bayern to Win & BTTS
Celtic Park will be rocking on Wednesday as the German giants Bayern Munich travel to Glasgow. The Bhoys are unbeaten at home in the Champions League this season after wins over Slovan Bratislava, Young Boys and Red Bull Leipzig, along with a point against Club Brugge. There is no denying a significant gap in quality between Celtic & Bayern, but the hosts can be competitive and the raucous atmosphere will work in their favour. Bayern have scored at least three goals in six of their last seven across all formats.
Feyenoord vs AC Milan – AC Milan to Win & BTTS
It’s been a rough couple of weeks for Feyenoord. On Monday they parted company with their manager Brian Priske. The 3-0 win over Sparta Rotterdam on Sunday was not enough to save his job after three previous consecutive defeats. Seven of Feyenoord’s eight Champions League matches this season have featured over 3.5 goals. Another chaotic affair could be on the cards and with far-from-ideal preparation, it could be a defeat for the hosts in the first leg.
