How both teams go into Bournemouth vs Man Utd

After looking so likely to challenge for a Champions League place, Bournemouth have dropped all the way to 10th. That’s because of their current run of just one win from their last eight league matches and two points from their last six — while they’ve also exited the FA Cup during that time. That said, the Cherries are still just three points off eighth and should they secure those heights, it would represent their highest-ever finish.

Things continue to look bleak for Manchester United, who remain 14th in the table on just 38 points from 32 games following a crushing 4-1 defeat to Newcastle United. The last hope of a successful season for the Red Devils lies in the form of the Europa League, and they host French giants Lyon in the second leg of their quarter-final tie on Thursday, before facing Wolves at home ahead of this match.

At the time of writing, Bournemouth hold a seven-point lead over United in the Premier League table.

Bournemouth team news

Ryan Christie and Enes Unal are out long term, but Bournemouth will hope to have Justin Kluivert, Luis Sinisterra and Marcus Tavernier all back in time for this match.

Man Utd team news

Amad Diallo and Lisandro Martinez are out for the season, while Joshua Zirkzee’s availability for this match remains doubtful. Matthijs de Ligt, Jonny Evans and Toby Collyer should all be back fit. Ruben Amorim faces a dilemma in goal, with Altay Bayindir coming in to take Andre Onana out of the firing line against Newcastle but putting in a dreadful performance.

Bournemouth vs Man Utd head-to-head

As mentioned, Bournemouth are unbeaten in their last three meetings with Man Utd, following a three-game unbeaten streak for the Red Devils.
