Arsenal visit Paris Saint-Germain for the second leg of their Champions League semi-final on Wednesday 7th May at 8 pm (UK time).
Ousmane Dembelé’s early goal in London, his eighth in nine Champions League appearances since the start of 2025, has left PSG in sight of a second final. Only two teams have ever reached the Champions League final after losing the first leg of their semi-final tie at home: Ajax, who overcame Panathinaikos in 1995–96, and Tottenham Hotspur, who did the same against Ajax in 2018–19.
Arsenal predicted line-up vs PSG
Arsenal (4-3-3): Raya; White, Saliba, Kiwior, Lewis-Skelly; Ødegaard, Partey, Rice; Saka, Trossard, Martinelli
Arsenal entered the Champions League semi-finals on a remarkable high, having decisively defeated Real Madrid 5–1 on aggregate in the quarter-finals.
However, they could not make their home form in the competition count when they suffered a narrow 1-0 first-leg defeat. That result was PSG’s first-ever victory in six attempts against the Gunners (three draws and two losses). Both of their home games against the Gunners have finished 1-1 (March 1994, September 2016).
Arsenal have won each of their last four away games in the Champions League. The Gunners have never won five in a row on the road across all European competition. However, the Parisians have won three of their last four Champions League home games, netting 14 goals across those three victories. However, they have lost twice at the Parc des Princes this season (vs. Liverpool and Atlético de Madrid), only losing three at home in the same campaign in 2020–21.
Both PSG and Arsenal are bidding to reach their second European Cup/Champions League final; the French side did so in 2019–20, and the Gunners in 2005–06. When winning the first leg of a European tie away from home, PSG have only been eliminated once (vs Manchester United in 2018–19), while Arsenal have never progressed after losing the first leg at home.

Arsenal team news vs PSG
Thomas Partey returns from suspension and goes straight into Arteta’s starting lineup in a midfield consisting of skipper Martin Odegaard and Declan Rice, whose influence continues to grow. Leandro Trossard, who has been in excellent form lately, should lead the Gunners’ attack, though Mikel Merino is an option having played in midfield against PSG last time out.
Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli are expected to support whoever starts as Arsenal’s “false nine” on the wings, while Arteta is expected to make one change to the defensive lineup that successfully contained Real Madrid in the previous round, featuring Jakub Kiwior alongside William Saliba in central defence.
Jurrien Timber, however, could miss the game in the French capital after being replaced late in Tuesday’s first leg. The Dutchman was not included in the Arsenal squad for Saturday night’s Premier League game against Bournemouth, which they lost 2-1 despite taking the lead in the first half.
