No. 2 seed Medvedev has enjoyed a purple patch on the court this past year, already reaching three Grand Slam finals and winning his first major championship back in September after beating Novak Djokovic in the US Open. Laslo Dere, likewise, had few issues navigating past Ricardas Berankis in the First Round, and he will be hoping to reach consecutive Third Rounds at the French Open for the first time in his career. But, in Medvedev, the Serbian right-hander faces one of the most in-form tennis players at the minute.
