Early price changes
Price changes occur daily in Fantasy Premier League, around 2:30am UK time. The inner workings of the price changes are secret, but are influenced by the number of transfers in and out. Fantasy Football Hub have the best price change predictions in the business.
We do know that players can change in price by £0.1 million per day, capped at a maximum of £0.3 million per gameweek. These price changes are especially crucial at the start of the season, as a manager may be priced out of a direct swap if a player price goes up or down.
Normally, managers are advised to wait until Friday’s press conferences before making transfers. However, with no midweek fixtures this week and prices so volatile, it’s a gameweek where it might be worth the risk to make those moves early and play the market.
On Monday 18th August we saw the first three price changes of the season: Tijani Reijnders (£5.6m), Antoine Semenyo (£7.1m) and Hugo Ekitike (£8.6m) all rose by £0.1 million, as projected here at Fantasy Football Hub. They are the most transferred-in players for Gameweek 2 at the time of writing.
Predicted price changes
Nottingham Forest’s Chris Wood (£7.5m) scored a brace in the 3-1 win against Brentford on Sunday. And with 250,000 transfers in already, he looks likely to rise in price as soon as Tuesday. I’ll be making the straight swap tonight from Joao Pedro (£7.5m), with no spare cash in the bank.
Erling Haaland (£14.0m) is another popular acquisition following his two goals against Wolves on Saturday. He’s currently predicted to rise in price on Wednesday, along with Sunderland defender Daniel Ballard (£4.5m) who was the Player of the Week for Gameweek 1, with 17 points.
Thursday could bring the first price drops of the season, with Manchester City’s Omar Marmoush (£8.5m) and Tottenham’s Dominic Solanke (£7.5m) among the most significant transfers out, having been benched in Gameweek 1. Both could start their next league game.
I would urge caution in swapping Solanke for his understudy Richarlison (£6.5m) who also scored a brace on opening weekend. Solanke is working his way back to full fitness after a knock hampered his pre-season, and should likely start against Manchester City.
