Premier League stats and records you might see in Gameweek 30

The Premier League returns this weekend after a brief respite for the FA Cup and Champions League, the latter of which proved to be a bruising round for English pride as none of the country’s six representatives managed to claim a last-16 first-leg win.

They will each be aiming to respond when domestic action resumes as relegation-threatened Tottenham travel to Liverpool, league leaders Arsenal host an Everton side that have been thriving on the road, while a wounded Manchester City face a rejuvenated West Ham in the capital.

Here are some of the standout stats that could come into play in Gameweek 30.

Arsenal chase corner record

  • Arsenal could become the first club ever to score over 16 goals from corners in a Premier League season.

Arsenal equalled the record for most goals from corners in a Premier League season earlier this month when they fired their tally to 16, which puts them level alongside their own 2023-24 side, Oldham in 1992-93, and West Brom in 2016-17.

So, history can me made this weekend at home to Everton, who have leaked in eight goals from set-pieces already this season (including penalties).

Meanwhile, Jordan Pickford is just two goals away from becoming the ninth goalkeeper to concede 500 Premier League goals. If Arsenal score at least twice on Saturday, only Paul Robinson (338) and Ben Foster (353) will have conceded 500 goals in fewer matches than Pickford (currently 498 goals in 353 games).

Spurs staring at 6 on the spin

  • Tottenham could lose six successive Premier League games for the first time since 2004.

Both Liverpool and Tottenham suffered disappointing Champions League defeats during the week, but must quickly refocus on the Premier League as Liverpool look to get their top-four hopes back on track, while Spurs are in desperate need of points in their fight for survival.

Things look increasingly bleak for Tottenham after a chaotic 5-2 defeat away to Atletico Madrid. The result marked their sixth consecutive loss in all competitions and left beleaguered boss Igor Tudor with four straight defeats from as many matches, which is the worst start of any manager in the club’s history.

Spurs are also still searching for their first Premier League win of 2026, having gone 11 matches without success. Failure to win this weekend would extend that club record run to 12, leaving them behind only Middlesbrough in 2017 (14), Sunderland in 2003 (17), and Derby in 2008 (18) for the longest winless starts to a year.

Whether Tottenham can turn things around at Anfield is doubtful. They have won there just once in their last 31 league visits and in none of their previous 14, losing 10 of those matches. Another defeat this weekend would see Spurs lose six consecutive Premier League games for only the third time in their history – and for the first time since 2004.

Toon eye landmark win in the capital

  • If Newcastle beat Chelsea they will become the fourth non-London club to win 50 Premier League games in the capital after Manchester United (81), Liverpool (79) and, Manchester City (64).

Newcastle will refuse to let Barcelona’s last-gasp equaliser in the Champions League dampen their spirits when they head down to the capital to Stamford Bridge to take on Chelsea, who themselves suffered a 5-2 defeat to PSG.

The Toon have the opportunity to make history as they look to become only the fourth non-London club to win a landmark 50 Premier League games in the Big Smoke after Manchester United (81), Liverpool (79) and, Manchester City (64).

However, recent history is against them here, with the Magpies winning none and losing 11 of their last 12 visitors to Stamford Bridge.

Haaland bids to nail the Hammers (again)

  • Erling Haaland could become only the third player in Premier League history to score 2+ goals in four consecutive matches against the same opponent (West Ham) after Michael Owen against Newcastle (1998-2001) and Harry Kane against Everton (2017-2018).

Man City suffered a damaging 3-0 defeat away to Real Madrid on Wednesday, but they can at least take confidence from their excellent record against Saturday’s opponents, West Ham. City are unbeaten in their last 19 league meetings with the Hammers and have never lost at the London Stadium in nine Premier League visits (W7 D2).

Pep Guardiola has overseen all 19 of those matches, meaning he could become just the second manager in the Premier League era to go unbeaten in his first 20 games against a single opponent, after Arsene Wenger against Leicester.

Meanwhile, Erling Haaland will be aiming to continue his remarkable scoring run against West Ham: his favourite Premier League opponent with 11 goals. He can become only the third player in Premier League history to net 2+ goals in four consecutive games against the same side, after Michael Owen against Newcastle (1998-2001) and Harry Kane against Everton (2017-2018).

Carrick’s home comforts

  • Michael Carrick can become only the fourth manager to win his first six Premier League home games after Sven-Goran Eriksson, Carlo Ancelotti, and Manuel Pellegrini.

Manchester United suffered a late defeat at Newcastle last time out, but return to home comforts on Sunday where they’ve won 28 of their last 37 games against Aston Villa, losing only twice.

United boss Michael Carrick boasts a 100% winning record on home soil and has the opportunity to become only the fourth manager to win his first six Premier League home games after Sven-Goran Eriksson (9), Carlo Ancelotti (7), and Manuel Pellegrini (11).

United can also set a new club clean sheet record of 31 shutouts against a single opponent, while if they score at the other end it will extend their scoring streak to 18 games in a row, which would represent their best scoring run since between November 2012 and April 2013 under Sir Alex Ferguson (23 games).

As for Villa, they may be out-of-form, but they do have the chance of completing the league double over United for the first time since 1954-55.

DCL flies highest against the Eagles

  • If Dominic Calvert-Lewin scores against Crystal Palace he will have more Premier League goals against the Eagles than any other club.

Leeds and striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin are both searching for a spark, and Sunday’s trip to Crystal Palace could provide the perfect opportunity.

Leeds are aiming to complete their first league double over Palace since the 1994-95 season, while Calvert-Lewin has an excellent record against the Eagles, scoring seven Premier League goals against them, which is his joint-highest tally against any opponent, alongside Newcastle.

Calvert-Lewin struck twice when the sides met in December, and another goal at Selhurst Park on Sunday would fire him to eight against Palace – more than he has managed against any other club in the Premier League.

Forest’s City Ground slump

  • Nottingham Forest could go seven home Premier League games without a win for the first time since 1999.

Nottingham Forest desperately need to scramble for points after going six games without a win, which has seen West Ham, 18th, gobble up the deficit and join them on 28 points with nine games to go.

Unfortunately for Forest, their home form has deserted them. They are winless in six Premier League games (D3 L3) in front of their own fans and haven’t failed to win in seven since they went a whopping 16 matches with a home victory back in 1999.

Stadium of Lights-out

  • Sunderland could lose three straight Premier League home games for the first time since August/September 2016.

It was only recently that Sunderland were the only Premier League side this season yet to be beaten on their own patch, having gone 12 games without defeat. However, the Black Cats’ impressive home form has vanished following back-to-back Stadium of Light defeats to Liverpool and Fulham.

Sunderland, who host Brighton on Saturday, are now in danger of losing three straight Premier League home games for the first time since August/September 2016.

Turf Moor misery

  • Burnley could go 11 successive league home matches without a win – in the same season – for the first time.

If Burnley are going to pull off a Great Escape this season, they need to find points quickly. The Clarets have produced some encouraging results on the road in recent months, including draws at Anfield and Stamford Bridge, as well as a remarkable 3-2 comeback victory at Selhurst Park.

However, their form at Turf Moor has been shocking. Scott Parker’s side have failed to win any of their last 10 Turf Moor matches, a run stretching back to October, and if fail to beat Bournemouth on Saturday, they will set an unwanted club record by going 11 consecutive league home games without a victory.

A rare Wolves hat-trick?

  • Wolves could become the first club to win three straight Premier League matches when bottom of the table since Leicester City in April 2015.

They’ve left it very, very late but Wolves have finally come alive in the Premier League, winning back-to-back matches for the first since last April.

They were impressive victories too, dispatching of top-4 contenders Aston Villa and Liverpool at Molineux.

The league’s basement club, who are 12 points adrift of safety with eight games to play, travel to Brentford on Monday night where they have the opportunity to become the first club to win three straight Premier League matches when bottom of the table since Leicester City in April 2015.
