The Premier League weekend may have just wrapped up, but there’s no time to catch your breath as midweek Gameweek 29 jets into focus this week, with all 20 teams in action from Tuesday through Thursday.
From March misfortune, home struggles, and managerial lows to London derby woes and assist milestones, here’s a fresh batch of stats and storylines to keep an eye on.
Stats you might see
Toffees stuck at home
- Everton could go seven home league games without a win for the first time since 1998.
Everton may boast the second-best away record in the Premier League, but on home soil at their new stadium, they’ve struggled following an initial bright start.
David Moyes’ men are without a win in their last six league matches at the Hill Dickinson Stadium (D2 L4). Should they fail to overcome relegation-threatened Burnley on Tuesday, it would be the club’s longest winless run at home (seven games) in the top-flight since 1998, when they endured a nine-game drought in front of their own supporters.

Sunderland’s March misery
- If Sunderland fail to win at Leeds, they will extend their March drought to 18 Premier League matches without a win. Only two clubs in the competition’s history have endured a longer winless streak within a single calendar month.
Leeds and Sunderland meet at Elland Road in the Premier League for the first time since 2002. Although Leeds were beaten in the 5:30pm kick-off at home to Manchester City last weekend, in league home games kicking off at 7pm or later they are unbeaten in 22 matches, winning 19 of them.
For Sunderland, March has historically been a difficult month. The Black Cats are winless in their last 17 Premier League fixtures played in March, dating back to 2012. Only Leicester City (19 games without a January win between 1999 and 2015) and Fulham (20 November games without victory from 2009 to 2018) have endured longer winless streaks in a specific month in Premier League history.
Liverpool’s Wolves win ratio
- If Liverpool beat Wolves they will have a win ratio of 83.3% in this fixture – 20 wins in 24 games – the highest of any Premier League fixture that’s been played over 20 times.
History tells a decidedly one-sided story between Liverpool and Wolves, with the Reds claiming victory in 19 of their 23 Premier League meetings.
That equates to an impressive 82.6% win rate, the highest of any team against an opponent they’ve faced 20 or more times in the Premier League. A win in the next clash would nudge that ratio even higher, up to 83.3%.
Cherries curse
- Bournemouth will be hoping to beat Brentford in the Premier League for the first time.
Bournemouth will be looking to go nine Premier League games unbeaten for only the second time in their history when they head into Tuesday’s game at home to Brentford, who sit four points and three places above the south coast side in 7th.
The Cherries have never beaten the Bees in seven attempts in the Premier League, of which they’ve drawn two and lost five. Its the only opponent they’ve faced in the competition without beating.
Brentford, meanwhile, will be hoping to extend their unbeaten Premier League record against Bournemouth to eight games, while they’ve won 10 of the last 13 meetings between the sides in all competitions.
Villa’s rare double
- Aston Villa are looking to complete a league double over Chelsea for the first time in the Premier League era (since 1989-90).
Form has seemingly deserted the Champions League chasing duo of Aston Villa and Chelsea as we head into the final 10 gameweeks of the season. Villa have collected only three league wins in 10 since their eight-game winning streak, while the Blues are searching for their first victory in four games.
Villa triumped at Stamford Bridge when the sides clashed just after Christmas, now they have the chance to complete the double over Chelsea for the first time in the Premier League era.
If Villa do win, it will also be the first time they have claimed three wins in a row against the Blues since between 1978 and 1984 (4).
Arteta’s aerial Arsenal
- Arsenal will set a new Premier League record for goals from corners should they score via a corner kick away to Brighton.
Arsenal equalled the Premier League record for most goals scored from corners in a single season (16) during their 2-1 victory over Chelsea, with both William Saliba and Jurrien Timber scoring from corner kicks.
The Gunners hold this record alongside their own 2023-24 side, Oldham Athletic (1992-93), and West Bromwich Albion (2016-17). On Wednesday night, Mikel Arteta’s side have the chance to claim the outright record when they travel to the south coast to face Brighton.

West Ham’s capital punishment
- If West Ham lose to Fulham, they will have lost the second most (8) London derbies in a single Premier League season.
West Ham are in urgent need of a victory that could lift them out of the relegation zone at the expense of Nottingham Forest – who travel to Man City – yet their record in London derbies this season offers little encouragement, with seven defeats from eight such fixtures.
Another loss, this time away at Fulham on Wednesday, would see the Hammers become just the fourth club to lose eight London derbies in a single Premier League campaign, while only Fulham have endured more in one season; suffering a record 10 derby defeats in 2018-19.
Peraira’s problem
- If Vitor Pereira suffers defeat at Man City, his winless run in this season’s Premier League would extend to 13 games, which would be the second most games without a win by a manager in a single season behind Paul Jewell (24 games in 2007-08).
Vitor Pereira suffered the sack at Wolves earlier this season after he failed to win any of the club’s opening 10 league games. The Portuguese coach returned to the dugout with Nottingham Forest last month and has lost both of his top-flight games so far.
This could well extend to a hat-trick of defeats away to title-challengers Man City, whose own boss Pep Guardiola has won 17 of his last 20 league games against Portuguese managers, including twice against Pereira.
If Pereira is unable to inspire a surprise Forest win at the Etihad, he will have gone 13 games without a win this term. Only one manager has taken charge of more games in a Premier League campaign without winning: Paul Jewell (24 wins and games with Derby back in 2007-08.

Bruno’s route to uno
- If Bruno Fernandes registers two assists against Newcastle United, he will match David Beckham’s club record of 15 assists in a single Premier League season for Manchester United.
Bruno Fernandes produced a goal and an assist as Manchester United came from behind to beat Crystal Palace 2-1 at Old Trafford over the weekend.
The Portuguese midfielder now has 13 assists this season, placing him third in United’s all-time Premier League single-season assist rankings. One more assist away to Newcastle United would see him equal Nani’s 14 assists from 2010-11, two more would match David Beckham’s club record of 15 (1999-2000), and three more would set a new outright club record.

Tudor’s challenge
- If Tottenham fail beat Crystal Palace, they will set a new club record of 11 Premier League games without a win.
Tottenham have endured a disastrous start to life under Igor Tudor, who has lost both of his games since he replaced Thomas Frank. He’s now in real danger of becoming only the second Spurs manager, after Martin Jol, to lose his opening three Premier League games in charge of the club.
Should Spurs, who are still yet to win a league game in 2026, fail to beat Crystal Palace on Thursday night they will set a new unwanted club record of 11 Premier League games without a win.
