There are plenty of storylines ready to be written in the Premier League this weekend as we jet into gameweek 16.
From long-standing unbeaten home records, to derby dominance, and strikers chasing milestones, here’s a round-up of the stats you might see in the top-flight.
Stats you might miss
Back-to-back for Brighton
- Brighton travel to Anfield aiming to beat Liverpool in consecutive league meetings for the first time in their history.
Liverpool’s struggles continued last weekend after they surrendered a 2-0 lead and were eventually held to a frantic 3-3 draw at Elland Road, which sparked a calculated post-match interview from Mo Salah, whose future at Liverpool hangs in the balance.
With just two wins from their last 10 league games, the Reds now find themselves level on 23 points with Brighton, though its the Seagulls who are higher in the table thanks to their superior goal difference.
Brighton’s 3-2 victory in the last meeting between the teams means they now have a rare chance to record back-to-back league wins over Liverpool for the first time ever. Yet, they arrive battling a December slump, having failed to win any of their last eight matches in the month (five draws, three defeats).

Toffees stuck at Stamford Bridge
- Chelsea will look to extend their incredible unbeaten Premier League home run over Everton to 31 matches.
Chelsea and Everton head into this Saturday 3pm fixture in contrasting form. The hosts are winless in their last four games in all competitions, while Everton have won four of their last five, including away wins at Manchester United and Bournemouth.
Yet, Stamford Bridge has been a fortress for Chelsea in this fixture. The Blues are unbeaten in their last 30 Premier League home games against the Toffees, a run featuring 17 wins and 13 draws. It’s the longest home unbeaten streak Chelsea have ever recorded against a single opponent, while Everton have only endured a longer run without victory away to Leeds (36 games between 1953 and 2001).
On top of that, David Moyes has never won at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League, losing 13 and drawing seven of his 20 visits.

Burnley’s Fulham fortress
- Burnley can go 30 league home games unbeaten against Fulham.
Burnley will be hoping history is on their side when they welcome Fulham to Turf Moor, where they are unbeaten in 29 home league meetings against the Cottagers, which is their longest such run against any opponent.
Fulham haven’t left Turf Moor with a league victory since April 1951, a record Burnley will be desperate to protect as they look to halt a six-match losing streak.
Top vs bottom
- Arsenal will look to extend their dominance over Wolves to nine straight Premier League wins.
It’s top vs bottom in the Premier League on Saturday night when leaders Arsenal take on last-placed Wolves. The Gunners have 10 wins to Wolves’ 0, and a whopping 31 more points on the board.
The game is expected to be as one-sided as it gets, and recent history backs that up. Arsenal have won their last eight Premier League games against Wolves, who are winless in a whopping 19 league games – losing the last eight on the spin – dating back to April.
Goals guaranteed at Selhurst Park?
- Crystal Palace and Manchester City could become only the second top-flight fixture ever in which both teams score twice in five consecutive meetings.
If recent meetings are anything to go by, we could be in for a glut of goals on Sunday afternoon when Selhurst Park hosts the top-four clash between Crystal Palace (4th) and Manchester City (2nd).
Both teams have scored at least twice in each of the last four Premier League encounters, which feature two 2-2 draws and 4-2 and 5-2 victories for Pep Guardiola’s troops.
The last top-flight fixture to have both teams score twice in five straight games was Arsenal vs Burnley between 1959 and 1961.

Travel happy Tottenham
- If Tottenham win they will have the best away record in the Premier League and match their total away points (17) & wins (5) from last season.
Tottenham have endured a topsy-turvy season, but they are now chasing a third consecutive win in all competitions for the first time since September-October 2024, following victories to nil over Brentford in the league and Slavia Prague in the Champions League.
A win at Nottingham Forest would see Thomas Frank’s side go top the Premier League away table with 17 points from eight matches.
For Forest, defeat would hand Sean Dyche his 153rd Premier League loss, drawing him level with Arsene Wenger – though the former Arsenal boss oversaw 488 more games than Dyche.
Black Cats’ derby dominance
- Sunderland seek to go unbeaten in 10 league games against Newcastle for the first time, while a win will see them surpass their 2016-17 Premier League points tally.
Sunderland and Newcastle go head-to-head in the first Premier League for the first time since 2016.
Not only are Sunderland above their rivals in the table but they are one of only two top-flight teams who remain unbeaten at home this season.
This puts them in great stead ahead of Sunday’s Tyne-Wear derby, as does the fact they are currently unbeaten in their last nine league games against Newcastle (W6 D3) – a streak they can extend to double figures this weekend.
If they win (26), they will have surpassed their points tally (24) from their entire 2016-17 Premier League campaign.

Bowen on for a Century
- Jarrod Bowen can register his 100th Premier League goal involvement for West Ham with a goal or assist against Aston Villa.
Jarrod Bowen scored in West Ham’s 1-1 draw at Brighton last weekend, marking his 99th Premier League goal involvement for the Hammers (60 goals and 39 assists).
With four goals and an assist this season, Bowen now has the opportunity to accumulate 100 top-flight goal contributions when West Ham host in-form Aston Villa on Sunday.
If he achieves the milestone, he will become only the second West Ham player to reach triple figures, joining Michail Antonio, who finished with 101 goal involvements (68 goals and 33 assists).

Calvert-Lewin chasing Leeds legends
- Calvert-Lewin can become only the third Englishman to score in four consecutive Premier League games for Leeds.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin has hit form with three goals in his last three games for Leeds against Man City, Chelsea, and Liverpool – more goals than he had in his prior 33 Premier League matches (2).
If Calvert-Lewin finds the back of the net against Brentford, he will become only the third Englishman in Leeds history to score in four consecutive Premier League matches, joining Rod Wallace (five in November-December 1993) and Michael Bridges (two runs of four in 1999-00).

Iraola the curse of United
- Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola is aiming to go five unbeaten vs Manchester United in the Premier League.
Bournemouth head to Old Trafford struggling for form, having failed to win any of their last six games.
However, they can take confidence from a strong recent record against Manchester United, with Cherries boss Andoni Iraola remaining unbeaten against the Red Devils in the Premier League, inspiring his side to two wins and two draws, which includes masterminding consecutive 3-0 victories at Old Trafford.
