Premier League Predictions Gameweek 11: City to edge out Liverpool at The Etihad

The Premier League returns for Gameweek 11, with fixtures taking place over Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th November.

Five matches take place on Saturday, with Spurs vs Manchester United kicking off proceedings at 12:30pm. Arsenal continue their pursuit of the title as they travel to Sunderland at 5:30pm, before Chelsea take on Wolves at Stamford Bridge at 8:00pm.

Sunday looks like another cracker in the top flight, with Aston Villa vs Bournemouth the perfect starter, before the main event that is Manchester City against Liverpool at 4:30pm.

Tottenham vs Manchester United – Saturday 8 November, 12:30pm

Tottenham and Manchester United rank among the Premier League’s top sides for xG and shots per 90, with both averaging over 1.7 goals scored per game. Defensively, they’ve conceded in five of their last six matches combined. Recent meetings average 3.6 goals, making it a strong statistical pick for a high-scoring contest.

Prediction: Tottenham 2-2 Manchester United (10/1 with BOYLE Sports)

Everton vs Fulham – Saturday 8 November, 3:00pm

BTTS has landed in seven of the last 11 games these two have played against each other, whilst both sides have seen both teams scoring in three of their last five Premier League games. Everton are averaging a goal a game this season, whilst Fulham are averaging 1.2 goals per game. Both clubs have conceded at a higher rate: Everton at 1.3 goals per game and Fulham at 1.4 goals per game. This should be a really open game between two sides that will be keen to find a victory and pull away from the relegation zone.

Prediction: Everton 1-1 Fulham (13/2 with BOYLE Sports)

West Ham vs Burnley – Saturday 8 November, 3:00pm

West Ham will be looking to build on their win last weekend and continue the good start to Nuno Espirito Santo’s spell in charge of the club. Burnley have lost three of their last five games in the Premier League, conceding 11 goals in that time, whilst West Ham have averaged a goal a game over the same period. West Ham have a solid home xG and shots edge, while Burnley overperform in goals and has created fewer chances than the Hammers.

Prediction: West Ham 2-0 Burnley (8/1 with BOYLE Sports)

Sunderland vs Arsenal – Saturday 8 November, 5:30pm

  • Sunderland vs Arsenal prediction, stats and team news

Arsenal have won 13 matches without conceding across all formats this season. The Gunners last conceded a goal in September, and since then they have won eight on the bounce without a reply. Despite a strong start, Sunderland have not played a side in the top-six and will face a much stiffer test here.

Prediction: Sunderland 0-2 Arsenal (5/1 with BOYLE Sports)

Chelsea vs Wolves – Saturday 8 November, 8:00pm

Wolves sit bottom of the league and are winless in eight of those. The Old Gold have been really poor this term and have lost their last two on the road, with scorelines of 2-0 away at Sunderland and 3-0 at Fulham. After their league win at Spurs last weekend, expect Chelsea to dominate here.

Prediction: Chelsea 4-0 Wolves (14/1 with BOYLE Sports)

Aston Villa vs Bournemouth – Sunday 9 November, 2:00pm

  • Aston Villa vs Bournemouth prediction, stats and team news

Aston Villa have lost just one of their last 23 home Premier League matches (W14 D8), but Bournemouth can cause them real issues on Sunday. Goals have been lacking for the hosts this season, and although their form has been fairly steady, there doesn’t seem to be the spark in the final third that there was last season. Bournemouth aren’t the kind of opposition they will like playing against and a share of the spoils looks likely.

Prediction: Aston Villa 1-1 Bournemouth (6/1 with BOYLE Sports)

Brentford vs Newcastle – Sunday 9 November, 2:00pm

  • Brentford vs Newcastle prediction, stats and team news

Newcastle are winless in their last eight away Premier League matches (D4 L4). Meanwhile, Brentford have won 11 of their last 17 home Premier League matches that haven’t come against fellow London teams (D2 L4), with five wins in their last six (L1). The Magpies were in Champions League action on Wednesday, and the extra days of preparation could really benefit Brentford here.

Prediction: Brentford 2-1 Newcastle (9/1 with BOYLE Sports)

Crystal Palace vs Brighton – Sunday 9 November, 2:00pm

Both teams have scored in the last four meetings between these two rivals, with an average of 3.5 goals per game in that time. Both teams have scored in 80% of Brighton away matches this season and the same can be said of 60% of Crystal Palace home matches. When it comes to goals per game, Crystal Palace games have averaged 2.3 goals per game this season, whilst Brighton games have featured 3.2 goals per game.

Prediction: Crystal Palace 1-1 Brighton (11/2 with BOYLE Sports)

Nottingham Forest vs Leeds – Sunday 9 November, 2:00pm

Nottingham Forest and Leeds United look evenly matched heading into Sunday’s clash. Forest average 0.7 goals per game to Leeds’ 0.9, while both concede less than two goals a game on average. Their xG and possession stats are almost identical, and four of their last six league meetings have ended with under 2.5 goals. With neither side dominant defensively or creatively, the under line appears statistically probable.

Prediction: Nottingham Forest 1-0 Leeds (7/1 with BOYLE Sports)

Manchester City vs Liverpool – Sunday 9 November, 4:30pm

Manchester City enter Sunday’s clash with momentum firmly in their corner. They boast a striking home record against Liverpool — remaining unbeaten in seven Premier League games at the Etihad with four wins and three draws. City’s attack is also firing, averaging 2 goals per game this season, while Liverpool’s defence has caved to 3+ xG in recent direct encounters. Manchester City looks well-positioned to overcome Liverpool on Sunday. At home, City are unbeaten in 26 Premier League fixtures, winning 23 of them. Liverpool, meanwhile, have conceded in seven of their last nine away games and allowed 3.1 xG in last season’s Etihad meeting — evidence that City’s attacking dominance could again prove decisive.

Prediction: Manchester City 3-2 Liverpool (BOYLE Sports)
