Tottenham Hotspur pulled off a seemingly impossible comeback to draw 2-2 at home to Manchester City on Sunday.
City needed just 11 minutes to get in front in North London, with Yves Bissouma cheaply giving away possession and being punished with a Rayan Cherki finish as Spurs backed off the France international.
The visitors doubled their advantage just before half-time as Antoine Semenyo swept home another ruthless City break.
Spurs were completely outplayed in the opening 45 minutes and looked dead and buried. However, whatever under-pressure boss Thomas Frank said at half-time worked, with his side rejuvenated after the break. By the 71st minute, they were level, with Dominic Solanke applying a wonderfully improvised finish having already halved the deficit 20 minutes earlier.
Both sides went in search of a winner from there and missed considerable chances, but in the end, had to settle for a draw. For Tottenham, this result may just be the boost Frank needs. However, for City, they’re now six points behind leaders Arsenal in the Premier League title race.

Tottenham Hotspur player ratings
Guglielmo Vicario: 53%
Will feel he could’ve done better on City’s first goal, but made a vital stop to deny Cherki later in the game, ultimately keeping Tottenham in it.
Joao Palhinha: 54%
Made a match-high six tackles, while winning seven of his eight ground duels. However, he never looked comfortable on the right of a back three and will probably be hoping Frank puts him back in midfield soon.
Cristian Romero: 49%
Given the runaround by the likes of Haaland and Cherki, utterly failing to bring his defence into line. Dribbled past three times before coming off at half-time
Radu Dragusin: 33%
Backed off Cherki for the first goal, before making an awful clearance to gift Man City possession on the second. A less-than-ideal return to the starting line-up, losing three of his four duels and misplacing all four of his attempted long passes.
Archie Gray: 58%
Struggled to back up Palhinha at times, but put in a few strong tackles and never shied away from his responsibilities.
Conor Gallagher: 63%
Powered through the Man City midfield and provided a great cross for Tottenham’s equaliser. Struggled in the first half, but his combative edge was key to the second-half comeback.
Yves Bissouma: 40%
Far too casual to be caught in possession on Man City’s first goal, and gave the ball away numerous times thereafter. Looked totally out of his depth whenever Guardiola’s side pressed.
Destiny Udogie: 56%
If Palhinha needed more help from Gray, Dragusin needed Udogie to hold his hand. Caught too high on a few occasions as Man City carried a huge threat in behind. Coped well in his individual battles, however.
Randal Kolo Muani: 54%
A few nice touches here and there, but failed to seriously test City. Lost a match-high 10 duels before being hooked at 68 minutes alongside Bissouma.
Xavi Simons: 83%
Completed a match-high four dribbles and created four chances, including the one for Solanke’s first goal. Virtually a spectator in the first half, but came to life after the break to show flashes of his true potential.
Dominic Solanke: 70%
Couldn’t get into the game in the first half, but caused havoc after the break. Not a pretty performance, completing just five passes. However, Solanke came up with two huge goals, and the second was an absolute peach. Rounds off a confidence-boosting week after scoring against Eintracht Frankfurt in the Champions League, but worryingly came off injured toward the end.
Pape Sarr: 61%
Added some much-needed composure to the Spurs midfield, completing 18 of his 19 of his passes, while making four tackles, three blocks and a clearance.
Mathys Tel: 55%
Looked dangerous from the bench, creating a couple of openings and getting into some dangerous positions.
Wilson Odobert: 62%
Tidy with the ball and put himself about. Probably thought he was about to score the winner in the final five minutes, but Guehi just got to the ball ahead of him.
Manchester City player ratings
Gianluigi Donnarumma: 66%
Will be fuming to have conceded two goals in a game where City were so dominant, but Donnarumma has probably just about kept his side in the title race with four vital saves to stop a complete collapse.
Matheus Nunes: 48%
Was bright with the ball in the first half and got City going on the opening goal. Faded after the break, however, and looked a little lost defensively.
Abdukodir Khusanov: 62%
Made some vital recovery runs in the first half and showed some explosive speed to stop any Spurs counter-attacks. Still needs to learn to become more proactive, however.
Marc Guehi: 61%
A mixed bag for Guehi. He’ll be disappointed that he couldn’t stop Solanke scoring the first goal, but he made a vital interception to stop Odobert netting a late winner. Won all seven of his aerial duels and three of his four ground duels.
Rayan Ait Nouri: 58%
Steady with the ball and solid enough defensively, without doing anything too spectacular. Made three tackles, three recoveries and one clearance.
Nico O’Reilly: 56%
Progressive and inventive with the ball in midfield, and didn’t hide defensively, making four tackles and three clearances. However, he’ll not be happy with how easily Gallagher powered past him in the build-up to Tottenham’s equaliser.
Rodri: 74%
Completed a match-high 98 passes and won more duels (13) than any other player on the pitch. This was almost Rodri back to his controlling, unbeatable self. Our only criticism was his lack of sharpness to cope with an improved Spurs in the second half.
Antoine Semenyo: 62%
Took his goal well just before half-time, having already missed a decent chance earlier on. Failed with all six of his attempted dribbles, but his speed still had Gray and Palhinha on edge throughout.
Bernardo Silva: 60%
Won the ball back to set City on their way for the opening goal, and provided the assist for Semenyo on the second. Excellent on the ball and combative without it. Urged Guardiola to sacrifice him in favour of Phil Foden as City chased a winner at the end.
Rayan Cherki: 75%
Ripped Tottenham apart in the first half, putting City ahead in the 11th minute and coming agonisingly close to scoring again 13 minutes later, only to be denied by an excellent Vicario stop. Struggled with injury throughout the match, however, and was forced off in the 69th minute.
Erling Haaland: 49%
Grabbed the assist on the opening goal, but didn’t find his shooting boots. He’ll be particularly disappointed with his lobbed effort over the bar in the 18th minute when Spurs were utterly on the ropes.
Nico Gonzalez: 67%
Lost sight of Solanke for the second goal. Neat and tidy on the ball.
Tijjani Reijnders: 51%
Barely got involved in City’s build-up play, but missed two very good chances in the last 12 minutes. He’ll be kicking himself.
