Germany Women 0-1 Spain Women player ratings as La Roja seal another final

Spain Women managed to beat Germany Women 1-0 after heading to extra time, sealing their spot in the Women’s Euro 2025 final.

Spain controlled the majority of the match, holding 67% possession, taking 22 shots and creating two big chances. Germany, meanwhile, had 15 shots, creating three big chances with their 33% share of the ball.

Aitana Bonmati scored the winning goal in the 113th minute, smashing it home from a tight angle to beat Ann-Katrin Berger between the sticks, who had a superb performance up to that point.

Here’s how the players rated at Stadion Letzigrund:

Spain

Catalina Coll – 8 – Coll managed to keep her third clean sheet of the tournament, making four saves in the match, two from inside the box and making one high claim.

Ona Batlle – 7 – Batlle played the entire 120 minutes, making five tackles and winning five of her eight ground duels, solid as ever.

Irena Paredes – 8 – The captain was key dictating play from the middle of defence, spraying seven of her 10 long passes accurately, having a 92% pass completion and making two blocks in the game.

Maria Mendez – 7 – Mendez did her job next to Parades as the more aggressive of the two, winning her duels with two out of two ground duels and two out of three aerial duels.

Olga Carmona – 7 – Carmona, much like Batlle was solid at full-back, making three tackles and winning seven of her 14 ground duels, making it tricky for the German wide forwards to impact the game.

Aitana Bonmati – 9 – Bonmati, of course, scored the all important winner. The Ballon D’or winner also made three key passes, completed both of her attempted dribbles and made two tackles, showing her quality in all phases.

Patricia Guijarro – 9 – Guijarro had the most touches of anyone on the pitch with 142, making 109 of her 121 passes with four of those being key passes.

Alexia Putellas – 5 – Putellas was the least involved of the midfield trio, only managing 67 touches, she was also dribbled past twice in midfield, losing seven of her nine ground duels.

Mariona Caldentey – 6 – Despite having 90 touches, Caldentey was unable to truly put her stamp on the game, only completing three of her eight dribble attempts and failing both of her crosses.

Esther Gonzalez – 5.5 – Taken off after 68 minutes after receiving a yellow card in the first half, missed one big chance and had four shots (two on target) but was unable to make them count.

Claudia Pina – 6.5 – Pina was effective in her 77 minutes played, creating chances for others, making three key passes and completing one of her two dribble attempts.

Substitutes:

Salma Paralluelo – 6 – Was active coming from the bench, made two key passes, completed all three of her cross attempts, was clearly looking to make something happen.

Athenea del Castillo – 7.5 – Set up the winner for Bonmati, completed two of her three dribbles coming off the bench and had a positive effect on the game.

Cristina Martin-Prieto – 5 – Only managed six touches, completed one of her three passes made but did manage to win all three of her aerial duels in the match.

Germany

Ann-Katrin Berger – 8.5 – Berger was superb between the sticks for the majority of the match, making eight saves inside the box, two high claims and one punch. However, was beaten at her near post for the decisive goal.

Carlotta Wamser – 5.5 – Wamser was able to make it tough for Pina on the wing, making five tackles in the match, but was beaten twice in 1v1 scenarios, as well as missing a big chance.

Sophia Kleinherne – 7 – Kleinherne won all six of her ground duels, making five clearances, two blocks, one interception and three tackles, was solid at the back for Germany.

Rebecca Knaak – 7 – Was also solid alongside Kleinherne, making six clearances, one block, two interceptions and three tackles.

Franziska Kett – 4 – A poor performance from Kett at full-back, being dribbled past six times despite also making six tackles. Did make an error leading to a shot, as well as committing three fouls.

Jule Brand – 7 – Was one of the more lively German attackers, completing all three of her dribbles and clearly looking to make things happen at the attacking end on the break.

Elisa Senss – 6 – Was able to launch a fair few attacks with her long range passing, completing two key passes and 26 of her 30 in total.

Janina Minge – 6 – Not a standout performance from the Germany captain, Minge lost both of her aerial duels, was dribbled past once and lost possession eight times.

Sara Däbritz – 4 – Was taken off after 64 minutes, being booked early in the game for a silly foul. Lost possession nine times and only completed 44% of her passes.

Klara Buhl – 7 – Much like Brand on the opposite side, Germany were most threatening from out wide on the break, Buhl only completed one of her five dribbles, but did take six shots in the game, also making four key passes.

Giovanna Hoffmann – 5 – A poor performance from the German forward, only managing one shot in the match which was off target, losing five of her seven duels and only completing 58% of her passes.

Substitutes:

Linda Dallmann – 5.5 – Was active in the middle of the park after replacing Däbritz, winning five of her seven ground duels and making three tackles.

Selina Cerci – 5.5 – Won five of her six duels in her 34 minute cameo, made one key pass and was more of a threat than Hoffmann through the middle.

Sydney Lohmann – 4 – A costly mistake from the substitute, losing the ball and failing to recover which led to Bonmati getting her shot off.

Lea Schuller – NA – A late sub.
