Who are the Champions League favourites for 2022/23?
Man City (10/3 with Paddy Power)
For all their recent domestic successes Manchester City are yet to break through in the Champions League with a runners-up medal in 2019 being their most notable accomplishment. Pep Guardiola, a two-time winner, is surely determined to make amends following those chaotic scenes at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium when Real Madrid snatched an improbable victory from the jaws of defeat. Victory would have booked another all-Premier League final in Paris but Liverpool were left to face the record champions who claimed their 14th title.
Jurgen Klopp following the game told supporters to book their hotel in Istanbul, the location of the 2023 final, and the Reds are behind City when it comes to favourites. Klopp suffered a third final loss, more than any manager in history, that first setback came at the hands of Bayern Munich who are looking to reestablish themselves at the top table. It should be where PSG are dining considering they possess Europe’s most feared attack on paper, but the Parisians — like City — are yet to grab world football’s most demanding club competition by the scruff of the neck.

Real Madrid (10/1 with Paddy Power)
Liverpool were eliminated by Real Madrid in the 2021/23 knockout phase and Carlo Ancelotti’s side, who had to do it the hard way to win the biggest prize, sit outside the heavy favourites. Joining them are previous European winners Chelsea and Barcelona both of whom are in rebuilding phase. Juventus, meanwhile, are desperate to end a 27-year wait since that most recent triumph; it’s been five tournament final appearances in which they’ve lost each time to Borussia Dortmund, Real twice, Milan and Barcelona.
