Although it doesn’t quite match the feeling of scoring a goal, providing an assist is one of the most satisfying things a footballer can achieve on the pitch.

Whether it’s splitting the defence in two with a piercing through-ball or whipping in a cross for a runner at the near post, the guy setting up a chance is just as important as the one adding the finishing touch.

In the Bundesliga last season, Bayern Munich’s Thomas Müller was the assist king with 18 to go with his impressive tally of 11 goals, while Eintracht Frankfurt’s Filip Kostic was second with 14. Usual suspects Jadon Sancho, Kingsley Coman, Joshua Kimmich and Raphael Guerreiro all featured in the top 10, though placed behind Daichi Kamada who managed 12 assists.

So, as the 2021/22 campaign unfolds and Bayern look to hold off Dortmund and RB Leipzig to win a 10th straight title, use our table below to keep track of who has provided the most assists in the German top-flight.
