Some of the world’s greatest strikers have won the Torjägerkanone and right now, Robert Lewandowski has a stranglehold on the title.
Despite playing just 2,463 minutes, the Poland international managed to score a quite ridiculous 41 Bundesliga goals last season to fire Bayern Munich to yet another title and seal his sixth top scorer award, beating Gerd Muller’s single-season goalscoring record along the way. In fact, only Muller has won the Torjägerkanone on more occasions with seven.
Andre Silva (28) and Erling Haaland (27) were some way back from Lewandowski but had a fascinating battle for second spot — the latter is expected to be the closest challenger this time around with another year’s experience under his belt.
And there’s no counting out the likes of Wout Weghorst and Andrej Kramaric from finishing high up the standings again after scoring 20 goals in 2020/21.
Keep up with the race to be the Bundesliga’s top scorer in 2021/22 with our table below.
