How both teams go into Brighton vs Southampton
Brighton ended a brief two-game winless run in the Premier League — and three games overall — by beating reigning champions Manchester City 2-1 just before the international break before beating Bournemouth by the same scoreline. That result leaves the Seagulls level on 22 points with Chelsea in third, as well as Arsenal between them in the table.
Southampton experienced some relief with a 1-0 win over Everton at the start of November but could only follow that up with a 2-0 defeat away at relegation rivals Wolves and a 3-2 loss to Liverpool.
