Chelsea carry a slender advantage into the second leg against Atletico Madrid after Olivier Giroud’s spectacular overhead kick at the Puskas Arena in Budapest.

Mount backs Chelsea to win the Champions League under Tuchel

Mason Mount says the current Chelsea squad has the hunger and drive to win the Champions league under Thomas Tuchel.

Tuchel, who steered Paris Saint-Germain to the Champions League final last season, took the reins at Stamford Bridge in January and oversaw an impressive away win against Atletico Madrid in February’s first leg.

The Blues have only reached the quarter-finals once since winning the European Cup in 2012, but Mount has backed them to put together another historic run under Tuchel.

“We need to be setting our targets at that vision of wanting to win Premier Leagues, wanting to win trophies, wanting to win the Champions League,” he said.

“I feel like with the group we have, we can definitely do it. We’re very hungry to achieve it, very driven.”
