- When it comes to goals, the Alejandro Garnacho appears to be more of a threat than Pedro Neto. The Argentinian scored six times in 2024-25 and averaged 2.3 shots per game whereas the Portuguese winger managed just 1.4 shots per 90 and found the net only four times in the Premier League.
- However, Neto’s seems to be more productive when it comes to chance creation. The Chelsea man racked up six assists in 2024-25 to Garnacho’s two, created 1.9 chances per game and was more accurate from wide areas with a crossing accuracy of 28.19% compared to 16.07%
- When it comes to duels, Neto is more successful. He won 45.18% of his ground duels in 2024-25 with a take-on success percentage of 42.5%, compared to 41.6% and 32.1% for Garnacho. Neto completed 1.4 take-ons per 90.
- Garnacho enjoys an impressive 64.29% long pass accuracy and completed 1.1 lay-offs per 90 last season while his open-play passes completed numbers rank slightly higher than Neto, who does have a better general pass accuracy and completes on average more opposition half passes and more forward passes per 90 minutes as well.
- Neither players ranks particularly well in terms of defensive contributions, although Garnacho’s number of clearances (0.5 per 90) and interceptions (0.6 per 90) are quite clear of Neto’s return of 0.2 clearances and 0.4 interceptions.

Chelsea continue to add young attacking talent to their squad at a rate of knots and the latest player to be linked with a move to Stamford Bridge is Manchester United star Alejandro Garnacho.
Jamie Gittens and Estevao are just two young wingers to have joined the Blues this summer but if Garnacho does join it seems that he’ll be in direct competition with Neto for a starting spot in Enzo Maresca’s team.
There doesn’t seem to be too much between them in the numbers and although Garnacho offers more out of possession and poses more of a goal threat, Neto’s consistent creativity is not to be sniffed at and ranks better than Garnacho’s creative output.
Chelsea already have a very large squad to try and juggle game time for but Garnacho may be seen as a different option to what they already possess. Whether he can oust Neto out of the starting eleven will be next question if he decides to swap Old Trafford for Stamford Bridge.
