How does the Scottish Premiership Top Goalscorer market work?
Settlement is based on Scottish Premiership league goals only across the 2026/27 season, including the post-split fixtures. Scottish Cup, League Cup and European goals do not count, and own goals are not credited.

Who won the Scottish Premiership Golden Boot last season?
Tawanda Maswanhise won the 2025/26 award with 17 league goals for Motherwell, the lowest winning total in recent seasons. The Zimbabwe forward did it in only 27 appearances and 2,029 minutes, a rate of 0.75 goals per 90 that no rival came close to matching, and he was shortlisted for PFA Scotland Player of the Year as Motherwell finished fourth and qualified for Europe.
Behind him, Benjamin Nygren and Lawrence Shankland tied on 16, Youssef Chermiti hit 15, and Claudio Braga and Daizen Maeda shared fifth on 14. It was a tight, competitive race in a season Celtic eventually won by eight points from Hearts, and the spread of contenders explains why the top of this year’s market is so open.
For context, Cyriel Dessers took the 2024/25 Golden Boot with 18 goals, and Shankland’s 24 in 2023/24 remains the benchmark.

Lawrence Shankland (3/1)
Shankland completed his move to Rangers from Hearts in the summer, joining on a two-year deal with the option of a further 12 months after the Ibrox club triggered a release clause. He leaves Tynecastle with 88 goals in 171 appearances across four seasons, including 20 in 34 games in all competitions last term as he captained Hearts to second place, and he won the Golden Boot in 2023/24 with 24 league goals. At 30 he is the most proven finisher in the division, and a move to a squad that should create more chances is why he is the favourite. The counter is that he needs to settle quickly at his boyhood club and share the goals with Chermiti and Bojan Miovski.
Kasper Hogh (4/1)
Hogh arrived at Celtic Park for a club-record fee reported at around £11million from Bodo/Glimt, signing a four-year deal with the option of a further year and taking the number nine shirt. The 25-year-old Denmark international scored 54 goals in 103 games in Norway, was Bodo/Glimt’s top scorer as they retained the title, and managed five Champions League goals last season alongside seven in a Europa League run to the semi-finals.
Youssef Chermiti (8/1)
Chermiti’s first season in Scotland split neatly in two. He scored once in his first 18 appearances after his £8m move from Everton, then added 11 in 19, finishing with 15 league goals including a brace in the 3-1 win at Celtic Park in January, a hat-trick against Hearts in February and a second hat-trick on the final day at Falkirk. He is the only player in the top five who has already scored 15 in this division and, at 22, the improvement curve is steep. Shankland’s arrival muddies the picture at Ibrox, but 8/1 for a striker who ended last season that hot looks fair.
Benjamin Nygren (8/1)
Nygren was Celtic’s leading scorer last season with 16 in 38 Premiership games, plus four in the Europa League for 21 in all competitions across 58 appearances. Remarkable for an attacking midfielder, and it earned him a big price rise from the 2025 summer signing he was. The question is whether Hogh’s arrival costs him goals or simply gives him a better platform. He is a penalty-box arriver rather than a No 9, so a repeat is realistic without needing a leap in output.
Camilo Duran (10/1)
Duran was Celtic’s first signing of the summer, a five-year deal from Qarabag for a fee reported at around £6million, and he has hit the ground running with three goals in three pre-season games against Sporting CP, Middlesbrough and AC Milan. The 24-year-old Colombian scored 15 goals and added 10 assists last season, five of those goals coming in 10 Champions League appearances against Benfica, Ajax, Eintracht Frankfurt and Newcastle. If he starts ahead of Hogh, or alongside him, 10/1 will look big.
