Mexico vs England Bet Builder Tips: Round of 16 clash too close to call in 15/1 treble

England will face Mexico for a spot in the quarter finals of the 2026 World Cup. The match kicks off at 01:00 am UK time in the early hours of Sunday morning and we’ve put together our England vs Mexico bet builder tips for the occasion. Check out our 15/1 shot below.

Julian Quinones 1+ shot on target

One of the stars of this Mexico side in what has been a fine tournament so far is winger Julian Quinones. The 29 year old has scored three times as el Tri, including the first goal of the tournament as his side ran out 2-0 winners over South Africa. He’s since followed that up with a goal in the 3-0 romp over Czech Republic and he turned in arguably his best performance of the tournament in the round of 32 with a goal and assist in the 2-0 win over Ecuador.

The winger, who plays his club football for Al Qadsiah in the Saudi Pro League has taken 11 shots at the tournament so far at an average of 2.97 per 90 minutes – with 1.35 of that 2.97 (5 total) being on target. With Mexico no doubt looking to hit England with pace on the break, expect the former Tigres man to offer a real threat here.

Harry Kane 2+ shots on target

If Quinones is the main threat at one end, it’s no doubt who the Mexican defence will be worried about here. Harry Kane is already on five goals for the tournament after a clinical brace against DR Congo in the last round helped England to come from behind and secure the victory for the Three Lions.

Only two players have taken more shots on target than Kane at this World Cup at the time of writing. The Bayern Munich man has racked up 18 shots at this stage, 50% of which have been on target. In what will no doubt be difficult circumstances, Thomas Tuchel will be relying on his talismanic skipper to keep testing Raul Ranger in this game and to extend his goal tally for the tournament in the meantime.

Match Result: Draw

This game just feels too hard to call a winner in and the odds suggest as much, with neither side hugely fancied by the bookmakers. On paper, there’s no doubt that England have the stronger squad and the more accomplished manager in Thomas Tuchel. On the other hand, the conditions seem perfect for Mexico and they have been performing at a higher level than the Three Lions so far in winning all four of their games.

With a baying Azteca crowd waiting, expect this to be a very difficult test for Harry Kane and co in Mexico City. The hosts have a terrific record at this stadium and they’ll be keen to retain that here. At the time of writing, two of the tournament’s round of 16 games have gone to extra-time after a draw in 90 minutes. We anticipate the same again here.
