Morocco vs Haiti team news and predicted lineups

Morocco will be looking to secure their spot in the knockout stages of the 2026 World Cup when they take on Haiti on Wednesday at 11pm (UK time).

The current Africa Cup of Nations champions are in a very good position to reach the knockout stages, but will want to be absolutely certain. Morocco started the World Cup with a draw against Brazil, before a narrow victory over Scotland. They’ll be group winners if they can better Brazil’s result, or equal it with a better goal difference. A draw will also be enough to secure second, while the fact that eight third-placed sides go through means Morocco are unlikely to be eliminated all together.

Things aren’t as complicated for Haiti. Les Grenadiers have unfortunately been eliminated after losing both of their first two games. It was a narrow defeat to Scotland, but Haiti had an uphill battle and fell 3-0 against Brazil. Haiti will be playing for pride, though, and a first World Cup point.

This will be the first meeting between these two sides.

Morocco vs Haiti team news

Morocco team news

Mohamed Ouahbi has named the same starting XIs for Morocco’s two matches at the World Cup so far. But he’ll likely make a few changes. Morocco will feel confident to rotate slightly for freshness, while keeping enough quality in the team to win and reach the knockout stages. Soufiane Rahimi will be among those hoping to get a chance, and he may start ahead of Ismael Saibari to spearhead the attack.

At the other end of the pitch, Munir El Kajoui could come in to get a fifth World Cup appearance in what is expected to be his final major tournament. Achraf Hakimi is likely to continue at right-back, leading his country out for his 99th cap, but Anass Salah-Eddine could start over Noussair Mazraoui on the left.

There may also be a change in the double pivot, and a chance for Sofyan Amrabat to play alongside Ayyoub Bouaddi. The attack could look completely different. Chemsdine Talbi will be in line to start on the right ahead of Brahim Diaz, with Ayoube Amaimouni-Echghouyab on the left. Samir El Mourabet has reaplced Azzedine Ounahi in both of Morocco’s matches so far, and may get the start here.

Haiti team news

Haiti fared better against Scotland in their 4-4-2 setup than they did with a back five vs Brazil, so they may change the system again. The switch saw Jean-Kevin Duverne come into the back line, and he’s the most likely to drop out should Haiti revert to a back four. Sebastien Migne may want to bring some personnel changes, too, to give some players a World Cup start.

It could mean a place for Duckens Nazon as part of a strike duo alongside Wilson Isidor. The latter came off the bench against Brazil to replace Frantzdy Pierrot, who did not impress. Derrick Etienne Jr could then replace Ruben Providence on the left-wing, with Louicius Deedson returning on the right. There may be a start for Dominique Simon who came on at half-time against Brazil, bringing a formation change to the midfield.

Outside of Duverne, Haiti may remain unchanged at the back. Carlens Arcus came off at half-time against Brazil but was on a yellow card. With this being Haiti’s last game of the tournament, there is no need to be wary of any suspension risks. The backline will be key in Haiti’s attempt to get their first World Cup point.
