Brazil will bid to bounce back from their disappointing draw against Morocco when they take on Group C underdogs Haiti at the Philadelphia Stadium in the early hours of Saturday 20th June (1.30am BST).
Five-time winners Brazil, who last lifted the World Cup trophy in 2002, were underwhelming in their opening 1-1 draw against Morocco, who deservedly took the lead through Ismael Saibari, only for Vinicius Junior to claim a point for Brazil through a superb individual goal.
Brazil will now be expected to claim all three points against a Haiti side, who lost 1-0 to Scotland in their opening game.
Brazil vs Haiti Predictions & Betting Tips
| Our Prediction | Odds & Bookmaker | Confidence | Why We’re Backing It |
|---|---|---|---|
| Vinicius Junior to score 2+ goals | 5/1 @ Betway (16.7%) | ⭐⭐⭐ | Vinicius Junior was one of the only Brazil players who came out of the opening game with some credit to his name and we expect the country’s star man to enhance his tournament goal tally, with Betway pricing the Real Madrid superstar at 5/1 to score 2+ goals. |
| Jean-Ricner Bellegarde to be booked | 5/1 @ bet365 (16.7%) | ⭐⭐⭐⭐ | Brazil will be expected to dominate possession which could lead to frustration in the Haiti ranks. Wolves midfielder Jean-Ricner Bellegarde picked up a yellow against Scotland, which was his seventh yellow in his last 17 appearances for club and country. |

How both teams go into Brazil vs Haiti
Brazil
Anything other than a Brazil victory would come as a major surprise. The Selecao have not failed to win either of their opening two World Cup group-stage matches since 1974, when they began the tournament with back-to-back draws before eventually finishing fourth.
With a squad packed full of world-class talent and one of the game’s most respected coaches in charge, Brazil possess all the ingredients to go deep into the competition. While they disappointed against Morocco, it was a tough first match-up, and if they find their rhythm early on Saturday, they could run riot.
Haiti
There’s no getting away from the fact that Haiti, ranked 83rd in the world, are the huge underdogs here as they go in search of their first ever World Cup points. They lost all three games on their debut in 1974 and then lost narrowly 1-0 to Scotland in Boston in their opening game of this tournament.
However, Brazil’s uninspiring performance against Morocco will give the Grenadiers a flicker of hope. Brazil have also kept only one clean sheet from their last eight games and underwhelmed in qualifying where they finished 5th.
Brazil team news
Carlo Ancelotti could look to switch things up here. Brentford’s Igor Thiago started against Morocco but his place is now in real doubt, with Manchester United’s Matheus Cunha a potential replacement.
Winer Luiz Henrique will also be phishing for a start, while Fabinho could be favoured for Casemiro, who was booked and lasted only the first-half against Morocco. Meanwhile, Brazil’s record-scorer Neymar is unlikely to feature in this game as he continues to build up his fitness.
Haiti team news
Haiti don’t have any new injury concerns and are likely to field the same starting-11 as they go in search of their first ever World Cup point.

Head-to-Head: Last 3 Meetings
Brazil dominate the head-to-head, winning all three meetings in emphatic fashion: 4-0, 6-0, and 7-1.
| Date | Result | Competition |
|---|---|---|
| 12/04/1974 | Brazil 4-0 Haiti | International Friendly |
| 18/08/2004 | Haiti 0-6 Brazil | International Friendly |
| 08/06/2016 | Brazil 7-1 Haiti | Copa America |
Will Brazil get back on track against Haiti?
This game offers Brazil an ideal opportunity to get back on track by not just picking up their first win of the tournament, but scoring a few goals in the process. The reaction to anything else than a dominant win would be unappetising.
Haiti are not to be underestimated, but there’s a reason why they are 25/1 to conjure up the biggest shock in World Cup history.
We’re expecting Vinicius Junior to get on the scoresheet as he looks to put pressure on the leading contenders in the Golden Boot race, with the winger 5/1 to score 2+ goals with Betway.
We also like the price of 5/1 for Jean-Ricner Bellegarde to be booked for the second game in a row, and eighth time in his last 18 matches for Haiti and Wolves combined.
