Belgium vs Egypt Bet Builder Tips

Both teams to score

Belgium arrive at this World Cup with serious attacking firepower but genuine defensive vulnerabilities. Rudi Garcia’s side scored 29 goals in qualifying and netted 13 times across four pre-tournament friendlies. However, their back line looks makeshift, with Zeno Debast ruled out through injury. Egypt will not simply sit back and absorb pressure. Coach Hossam Hassan builds his side to counter at pace, with Mohamed Salah and Omar Marmoush providing the cutting edge.

Belgium’s full-backs push high, and that creates space for Salah to exploit on the right. Egypt topped their CAF qualifying group unbeaten in 10 games and beat Belgium 2-1 as recently as November 2022. Salah is fit and motivated, playing in what may be his final World Cup. Everyone knows Belgium’s defensive frailties. Egypt have the quality to punish them at least once. This has goals at both ends written all over it.

Mohamed Salah 2+ shots on target

Salah averaged 1.41 shots on target per Premier League game this season – one of the highest rates in the division. He took 68 shots in 27 league appearances for Liverpool in 2025-26, with 19 finding the target. For Egypt, he averages around 1.0 shots on target per game, a figure that rises significantly against top opposition when he carries greater responsibility. Salah starts on the right and will face Belgium’s left side, where Maxim De Cuyper pushes forward and leaves space in behind.

Belgium’s defence is the weakest it has been in years. Salah enters this tournament with 67 international goals and needs just two more to become Egypt’s all-time top scorer. That personal milestone adds further motivation to shoot at every opportunity. Against a porous Belgian back line, landing two shots on target feels well within his range.

Jeremy Doku 2+ shots on target

Doku enjoyed one of the finest seasons of his career in 2025-26. He took 39 shots in 30 Premier League appearances, with 16 on target – an average of 0.81 per 90 minutes, placing him in the 86th percentile among forwards. He also registered five goals and five assists in the league alone. Doku starts on the left wing for Belgium and will face an Egypt right side that will spend much of the game in defensive shape. He completed 78 dribbles in the Premier League this season, ranking in the 99th percentile. Egypt’s defensive setup invites wide pressure, and Doku will carry the ball at them relentlessly. He also scored five goals in eight World Cup qualifying appearances for Belgium. With Kevin De Bruyne pulling strings in behind him, Doku will receive the ball in dangerous positions repeatedly.
