Germany vs Curacao Bet Builder Tips

Over 4.5 goals

This is arguably the most one-sided fixture of the entire 2026 group stage on paper. Germany are a footballing superpower with four World Cup titles and a squad packed with Premier League, Bundesliga and Champions League regulars. Julian Nagelsmann’s side enter the tournament having won each of their last nine matches in all competitions. Germany carry genuine firepower across their front line with Musiala and Florian Wirtz both capable of opening up defences.

Curaçao suffered a 4-1 defeat to Scotland in one of their two pre-tournament friendly. That suggests their defence struggles badly against quality opposition. Germany will view this as a must-win to settle Group E standings early and build momentum. Nagelsmann will push for goals throughout the full 90 minutes rather than manage the game once ahead. Over 4.5 goals carries genuine value.

Jamal Musiala to score anytime

Musiala arrives at this World Cup as Germany’s most dangerous creative force and in solid form after a difficult injury-interrupted season. He scored against Finland in Germany’s warm-up win and started the pre-tournament game against the USA. That was vital in proving his fitness ahead of the World Cup. He brings 40 senior Germany caps and eight international goals into the squad. It’s a healthy return for an attacking midfielder who regularly operates in pockets between the lines.

Wirtz serves as Germany’s creative fulcrum, while Musiala offers the closer-range threat behind Kai Havertz . This role places him in exactly the kind of dangerous positions that produce goals against a deep defensive block. Curaçao line up in a 3-4-3 formation with Livano Comenencia sitting deep. This leave spaces in behind for Musiala to exploit with his trademark dribbling and intelligent movement. Against this level of opposition, Musiala will find space early and often.

Shurandy Sambo to be booked

The case here rests on a clear pattern of high-intensity defensive work that carries a natural booking risk. Sambo averaged 4.8 tackles per 90 minutes during World Cup qualifying – the highest of any Curaçao player and second only to Guatemala’s José Rosales across the entire CONCACAF qualifying campaign. He also averaged two fouls per 90. That level of defensive aggression suits Curaçao’s style perfectly but inevitably invites referee attention, especially at a tournament where officiating standards are high and VAR scrutinises every challenge. Sambo should operate at right-back against Germany, placing him directly in the path of Germany’s left-sided threats – likely Leroy Sane – across a full 90 minutes of sustained German pressure. Curaçao will defend deep and look to frustrate. Sambo will make high volumes of tackles, interceptions and last-ditch interventions throughout the match. His qualifying data suggests one of those challenges will earn him a yellow card.
