Group G at the 2026 World Cup sees Belgium looking like overwhelming favourites.
The draw placed Belgium, into Group G alongside Egypt and Iran. New Zealand joined the group after their OFC qualifying play-off victory in March.

World Cup 2026 Group G Fixtures
Belgium face what looks to be their toughest test when they face Egypt on matchday one. Iran and New Zealand clash in the groups other fixture.
Matchday two sees Iran take on Belgium as both teams hope to find a victory on their way to qualification. New Zealand and Egypt meet a few hours later in the other match.
The final Group G games take place at the same time on Saturday 27th June. Egypt take on Iran in what could prove to be a decider in qualifying for the knockouts. Belgium take on New Zealand hoping that their passage to the Round of 32 will already be secured.
World Cup 2026 Group G Results
Belgium are odds-on to win Group G, with odds as short as 4/9. Egypt follow them in the market, with Iran emerging as third favourites. New Zealand are the rank outsiders and can be found as high as 25/1.
We can’t see many shocks in this group, with Belgium looking far and away the strongest side. There probably isn’t much to choose from between Egypt and Iran. We’re backing the Pharaohs to find a narrow win in that all-important first group game. That should be enough to secure them second place.
