Best Bets & Predictions
| Our Prediction | Odds & Bookmaker | Confidence | Why We’re Backing It |
|---|---|---|---|
| Scotland to Win to Nil | 13/10 @ BetVictor (43.5%) | ⭐⭐⭐⭐ | After topping their WC qualifying group ahead of Denmark, the Scots look well equipped to get off to a flying start in North America against one of the tournament’s biggest minnows. |
| Correct Score 0-2 | 6/1 @ Bet365 (13.3%) | ⭐⭐⭐ | Scotland themselves might be without a glowing record at major tournaments, however, they displayed plenty of grit and enough of a clinical edge in front of goal during qualifying to give them a comfortable enough opening victory. |

How both teams go into Haiti vs Scotland
Steve Clarke’s side qualified with four wins, one draw and just a single loss from a group containing Denmark, Greece and Belarus. Across the six games, Scotland notched 13 goals and conceded seven, notably dismantling the Danes 4-2 in the final fixture. That win ensured automatic qualification for their first World Cup tournament in 28 years.
For Haiti, 2026 will be only their second appearance at a World Cup finals and it’s been over 50 years since their inaugural tournament back in 1974. Indeed, a 2-0 win over Nicaragua last November sealed the Haitians’ place in the United States, Mexico and Canada. Remarkably they were forced to play home matches 500 miles away in qualifying due to the country’s ongoing conflicts.
Haiti team news
Frenchman Sebastien Migne will steward one of the least experienced squads at the competition. However, he may be able to lean on a couple of familiar faces as Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Jean-Ricner Bellegarde will feature in midfield. There’s also the prospect of Sunderland striker Wilson Isidor leading the line.
Add to that veteran goalkeeper and captain Johny Placide, along with former Coventry City, Oldham Athletic and St Mirren Duckens Nazon – Haiti’s record goal scorer.
Scotland team news
There were few surprises in Steve Clarke’s 26 man squad for the tournament. Captain Andy Robertson, centre-back Scott McKenna, plus midfield maestros John McGinn and Scott McTominay are all integral to their nation.
The No.1 jersey does look up for grabs, however, as Craig Gordon races to return to fitness in time, with Angus Gunn ready to deputise if the 43 year old is unavailable.
Head-to-Head
This match marks the first time Haiti and Scotland will face one another.
How will this Group C fixture play out?
While it’s extremely unlikely to have consequences at the top of the Group C standings, Haiti vs Scotland could have major implications in helping either qualify to the knockouts as one of the eight best third-placed teams. At odds of 13/10 with BetVictor Scotland look a strong prospect to win to nil, while punters can also get a healthy 6/1 with Bet365 for a 2-0 Scotland correct score.
