France have named their final 26-man squad for the 2026 World Cup and it’s as star-studded as you’d expect.
Didier Deschamps, leading his nation into his fourth World Cup as manager, has named a 26-man squad for this summers tournament in United States, Canada and Mexico as they hope to reach the final for the third tournament in a row.
Almost every name included in the 26-man squad will be familiar to most football fans, with the likes of William Saliba, Kylian Mbappe, Ousmane Dembele and Michael Olise included by Deschamps.

The French squad has been given a revamp, as Deschamps looks to mix experience and youth to try and win back the trophy following their final defeat in 2022. The exclusion of Eduardo Camavinga is the biggest talking point when it comes to who hasn’t made the squad, with Manu Kone replacing him as a midfield option.
There are callups for Crystal Palace duo Maxence Lacroix and Jean-Philippe Mateta, while the likes of Michael Olise and Rayan Cherki will look to continue their excellent domestic form. There’s talent throughout the French squad, with multiple option across the pitch.

Three players to look out for this summer
Kylian Mbappe (Real Madrid)
All eyes will be on Kylian Mbappe this summer as he looks to build on the 12 goals he’s already scored in the tournament’s history. He needs another four goals to equal Miroslav Klose’s record of 16 goals and five more to eclipse it. It wouldn’t be a huge surprise to see him do it in North America this summer.
His season at Real Madrid has been marred by controversy, with the Spanish club struggling to maintain squad harmony, with rumours of discontent from various members of the team. Mbappe will have to put that to the back of his mind when he takes to the field for France and perform at his best to try and secure their third World Cup.
Michael Olise (Bayern Munich)
Michael Olise has had an incredible season for Bayern Munich, building on an equally impressive debut year for the German champions. He’s scored 15 goals and provided 19 assists in the Bundesliga this season and, while you’d be hard pushed to call it a breakout campaign for a player that has impressed for so long, it’s been a period that has truly cemented Olise’s status as an elite right winger.
There’s plenty of competition in the French squad and that might result in Olise not playing as many minutes as he would hope but all indications are that he’ll be the first choice right sided attacker for Deschamps. If Olise is able to translate his domestic form to the international stage, France could be celebrating on 19th July.
Ousmane Dembele (PSG)
You can’t look through that France squad without your eyes hovering over Ousmane Dembele’s name. The reigning Ballon d’Or winner has been in great form for the past couple of seasons, forcing his name into the discourse around winning the award for a consecutive year.
His numbers aren’t quite as good as last season but he’s still managed 18 goals in all competitions this season and he makes up an attacking trio for France that will strike fear into all defences in North America this summer. The average age of the front three for France is just 26, meaning that Dembele, Olise and Mbappe could still be performing at their peak in four years time.
