Best Bets & Predictions

Our PredictionOdds & BookmakerConfidenceWhy I’m Backing It
Manchester City to Win & Under 4.5 Goals10/11 @ Bet365
(38.1%)
⭐⭐⭐⭐ Everton have failed to score in three of their last five against City and could struggle here. All that matters to City at the moment is 3 points, as we saw against Burnley. I see this one being decided by a moment of brilliance from one of City’s attackers and a narrow 1-0 or 2-0 victory would not be a surprise. Take the 10/11 for the visitors to win and under 4.5 goals to be scored.
Rayan Cherki Anytime Assist9/4 @ Bet365
(30.8%)
⭐⭐⭐Cherki has 10 assists in 29 matches this season and has been one of the signings of the campaign after his arrival from France last summer. Three of his assists in the Premier League have arrived across his last five matches, and although 9/4 may not look the most attractive of prices, I think it’s one still well worth taking.

How both teams go into Everton vs Manchester City

Everton conceded late against West Ham last weekend to lose 2-1 in East London. That defeat did put a dent in David Moyes’ European aspirations for his team, but the dream remains alive due to the congested nature of sixth down 12th in the table, which are separated by four points.

Prior to Arsenal’s meeting with Fulham on Saturday, Manchester City sit three points behind leaders Arsenal with a game in hand. After winning against their title rivals a couple of weeks ago, City are now in the driving seat, but will know they cannot afford any slip-ups. This trip to Merseyside represents a tricky test, but the bookies still have them as the short-priced 4/9 favourites to win the game.

Everton team news

Everton will be without Jarrad Branthwaite for the rest of the season after a hamstring injury, with the defender ruled out despite previous surgery concerns, while Jack Grealish is also sidelined after ankle surgery and now focuses on recovery, leaving the Toffees short of two key names as the campaign winds down.

Manchester City team news

Manchester City are still waiting on key names to return, with Joško Gvardiol and Rúben Dias both still not back in full training, while Rodri is making progress but has yet to rejoin the group and remains a late fitness doubt, leaving Pep Guardiola with continued uncertainty in defence and midfield.

Can Everton Make City Sweat? Final Thoughts

Everton have nothing to lose, but the numbers are brutal. City are better in every department: shots, xG, defence, head-to-head, you name it. The Toffees don’t finish the chances they do get, and City’s defensive record is the best in the league. I’m backing Manchester City to win & under 4.5 goals with Bet365. If you want a player prop, Cherki anytime assist at 9/4 is the value shout. Don’t try to be clever – City are the angle.
