Brentford vs Brighton: predictions, stats, tips & odds

While both Brentford and Brighton could be considered mid-table Premier League sides at this moment in time, it feels as through the Bees are looking up the table and dreaming of Europe while the Seagulls are much more worried about what’s occurring beneath them in the table at this stage. The Gtech Community Stadium plays host to these two on Saturday at 3pm.

Best Bets & Predictions

Our PredictionOdds & BookmakerConfidenceWhy I’m Backing It
Brentford to Win1/1 @ Bet365
(50%)
⭐⭐⭐⭐Brentford average 1.54 goals per game and have won seven of their 13 home fixtures so far this term. Brighton have won just two games on the road and are conceding 1.31 per game. The 1/1 price implies 50%, but with Brentford’s attack and home edge, I rate them closer to 55%.
Over 4.5 Total Cards6/5 @ Bet365
(45.5%)
⭐⭐⭐Brighton are averaging 2.42 cards per game, Brentford 2.04. That’s 4.46 combined. With the stakes and both midfields happy to leave a boot in, 6/5 (45.5%) is value against a true chance around 55%.

How both teams go into Brentford vs Brighton

Brentford were expected to struggle this season having lost Bryan Mbuemo and Yoane Wissa alongside long-serving manager Thomas Frank in the summer. But the West London club is one of the best-ran in the world for a reason and as always they had a plan in place.

Keith Andrews has led his side to seventh in the table after 26 games and given that the top seven positions in the league at the very least are likely to be good enough to secure European football for next season, the Bees have a clear focus in mind at this stage. Having held table-topping Arsenal to a draw last time out, they’re now unbeaten in three games and will feel confident of taking another three points from this fixture on Saturday afternoon.

Brighton fans on the other hand have grown frustrated with manager Fabian Hurzeler as the 2025/26 season has unfolded. The Seagulls now sit 14th on 31 points, with just seven separating them from the in-form West Ham in 18th, meaning they are not yet confident of avoiding relegation scrap is starting to play out underneath them in the table.

A six game winless run in the Premier League hasn’t helped the German manager’s cause, particularly given that run included a defeat to out-of-form rivals Crystal Palace at the Amex Stadium. Another defeat here could see yet more pressure piled on Hurzeler with more difficult fixtures to come down the line.

Brentford team news

Fabio Carvalho and Antoni Milambo are long-term injury absentees. Kevin Schade will return from suspension while Josh DaSilva could make a long-awaited return here.

Brighton team news

Stefanos Tzimas, Adam Webster and Solly March are all injured. Yasin Ayari could face a late fitness test.

Head-to-head

Recent Meetings

These sides have met nine times since 2021, with Brighton winning four, Brentford two, and three draws.

The last clash saw Brighton come from behind to win 2-1 at home in November. Goals are usually on the menu — 2.56 per game on average across those nine games.

Conclusion

Brentford have the form, the firepower, and the value. Brighton are creating chances but can’t finish, and their discipline is suspect. I’m backing Brentford at 1/1 with Bet365 and adding Over 4.5 Cards at 6/5 for a bit of spice. Thiago to score is always a runner, but the outright and cards are where the edge is.
