Stats you might have missed
Gabriel chasing down Koscielny
- Gabriel Magalhaes became the second Arsenal defender to score 20+ Premier League goals for the club.
Gabriel Magalhaes’ made a costly error to gift Bournemouth the opener but bounced back to score at the other end as Arsenal claimed an important 3-2 win on the south coast.
The centre-back, who has two goals in two starts since his return from injury, has become just the second defender to score 20+ Premier League goals for Arsenal after Laurent Koscielny, who ended his Gunners career on 22 league goals.
Gabriel also now has seven more goals than any Premier League defender since he joined Arsenal in 2020.

Burnley finally fall at the Amex
- Burnley lost at the Amex for the first time in the Premier League, ending their six-game unbeaten run at the stadium.
Burnley’s struggles continued as their once-reliable trips to the Amex Stadium failed to offer respite. The Clarets were previously unbeaten at the ground, having collected two wins and four draws across six previous Premier League visits.
That record was broken, however, as Brighton secured a comfortable 2-0 victory, condemning Burnley to another defeat. The result stretched their winless league run to 11 matches, with losses in nine of those games deepening their ongoing slump.

Relief at last for Wolves
- Wolves won their first Premier League game since April.
Wolves fans rejoice. You have finally won a Premier League game.
Wolves, who had failed to win in 23 matches dating back to April, destroyed the hapless Hammers 3-0 to finally stamp a win on the board and extend their unbeaten run to two games following a prior draw at Old Trafford.
Sweeter still, the win came against their former boss Nuno Santo, who suffered a Premier League defeat against his former club for the first time.
Whisper it quietly…is the great escape on?

Villa bounce back
- Aston Villa have won 11 successive home games for the first time since 1989-1990.
Aston Villa showed there were no lasting scars from their heavy defeat at Arsenal as they responded with a 3-1 win at home to Nottingham Forest. The win lifted Unai Emery’s side level on points with second-placed Manchester City, and keeps them six points off Arsenal.
Villa’s dominance at Villa Park continued as they recorded an 11th consecutive home win in all competitions, a feat they had not achieved since October 1989 to January 1990.
The result also extended their formidable home record against Nottingham Forest, remaining unbeaten in their last seven Premier League meetings at Villa Park, stretching back to 1994.

Clean sheets elude Man United
- Manchester United have gone 15 consecutive away games without a clean sheet for the first time ever in the Premier League.
Leeds’ impressive recent unbeaten run was extended to seven games after they played out a 1-1 draw against Manchester United, who have since sacked manager Ruben Amorim.
It’s the first time Leeds have gone seven consecutive Premier League games without defeat since November 2001, with the point moving the club eight points clear of safety.
United’s problems, however, were once again evident at the back. The draw marked a 15th consecutive away league match without a clean sheet: their longest such run ever in the Premier League history.
Hat-trick hero
- Igor Thiago became the seventh Brazilian to score a Premier League hat-trick.
Igor Thiago scored a stunning hat-trick as Brentford secured an impressive 4-2 win away to Everton as the Bees moved to within one point of 4th place.
The striker had been enduring a brief goal drought, having failed to score in his last six matches, but emphatically ended that run by firing three past Jordan Pickford to take his tally to 14 league goals in just 20 appearances this season – only Erling Haaland has scored more (19).
Thiago’s treble also saw him enter exclusive company, becoming only the seventh Brazilian to score a Premier League hat-trick, following in the footsteps of Afonso Alves, Lucas Moura, Robinho, Roberto Firmino, Gabriel Jesus, and Matheus Cunha.
Goalmaraes
- Bruno Guimaraes has already matched his highest-ever Premier League tally for a season.
Bruno Guimaraes has been in fine form in front of goal of late, scoring four goals in his last seven games, including the opener in the 2-0 win over Crystal Palace.
The Toon skipper has now scored seven league goals this season – more than the likes of Bruno Fernandes, Viktor Gyokeres, and Mo Salah – meaning he’s already matched his best goalscoring season for the club with seven goals, and we’re only half-way through the campaign.

Spurs’ 15 game streak
- Tottenham are now unbeaten in their last 15 Premier League games against Sunderland.
Tottenham were forced to settle for a point after surrendering a 1-0 lead to Sunderland, who struck back with an 80th-minute equaliser.
Although the result fell short of what the inconsistent Spurs would have hoped for, it maintained their remarkable unbeaten record in this fixture, stretching to 15 Premier League games over the past 15 years.
Spurs have also now scored in 62 of their last 63 games against promoted sides.

Late late show at Craven Cottage
- Liverpool’s second goal against Fulham was the fourth-latest strike in Premier League history to hand a side the lead without going on to win the game.
Fulham and Liverpool shared the spoils in an absorbing 2-2 draw in the capital, with late drama at both ends of the pitch. Liverpool looked to have snatched all three points when Cody Gakpo struck in the 94th minute, only for the hosts to rescue a point thanks to a sensational 97th-minute equaliser from Harrison Reed: his first goal since 2023.
The dramatic swing added an unwanted footnote for Liverpool with Gakpo’s strike the fourth-latest goal on record (since 2006-07) to give a team the lead in a Premier League match without ultimately securing victory.

Enzo to the rescue
- Only Cole Palmer (35) has more goal involvements across all competitions for Chelsea since the start of last season than Enzo Fernández (34).
Enzo Fernandez rescued a point for Chelsea at the Etihad, prodding home a 94th-minute equaliser against Manchester City in the Blues’ first match since the sacking of Enzo Maresca.
Since the start of last season, only Cole Palmer (35) has registered more goal involvements for Chelsea than the Argentine’s 34, while Fernandez remains the club’s only player to have reached double figures for both goals and assists in that period.
