
The 2026 World Cup kicks off on 11th June in an expanded 48-team format.
For the first time, the World Cup will feature a round of 32, with 32 of the 48 competing nations advancing beyond the group stage in the revamped format.
The new format means more matches, more teams and more knockout football, with 104 games set to be played before the world champions are crowned.

Group A

The team the tops Group A next summer will take on the best third placed team from Groups C, E, F, H, or I in the round-of-32. These groups include the likes of Germany, Netherlands, Spain and France, among others.
Finish second, they will take on the team that finishes second in Group B (Canada, Qatar, Switzerland and Bosnia and Herzegovina).
Finally, the team that finishes third could take on the winners of Group G (Belgium, Egypt, Iran, New Zealand) or Group E (Germany, Ecuador, Ivory Coast, Curacao).
