Sheffield Wednesday fans will have largely been happy with their performance last season. After a struggle in their first campaign back in the Championship in 2023-24, the Owls were a lot more stable. A 12th-placed finish saw Sheffield Wednesday nine points clear of the relegation zone and 10 outside the play-offs. In a tight battle at both ends, an average finish wasn’t too bad.
But there has been a lot of uncertainty surrounding the squad and management over the summer. The Owls have financial issues and have been handed a transfer ban, with a lot of players leaving. It hasn’t been the ideal preparation for the new campaign.
