The 10 best Tottenham kits of the Premier League era

Tottenham Hotspur are getting ready to turn a fresh page under new boss Thomas Frank in the 2025-26 and have released their new kits for the upcoming campaign.

Spurs have had some striking kit designs in the past, as well as some more plain, elegant and sophisticated jerseys.

While some have divided fans — looking at you 2009-10 home kit — others will hold a soft spot in the hearts of many supporters, who are already fawning over the new sleek black away kit.

With that in mind, Squawka have taken a look at the 10 best Tottenham kits in Premier League history.

10. 2014-15 home kit

This was the year of Harry Kane’s breakout season at Tottenham and the first campaign of manager Mauricio Pochettino’s reign at the club.

Tottenham had a nicely designed kit in this season that was fairly unique. It had two horizontal stripes running from the middle of the shirt to the sleeves, with yellow detail on the collar and sleeves.

9. 2022-23 third kit

Is this the most popular Tottenham kit of all time? No – and it was possibly quite divisive among fans at the time for having too much going on.

This was an all-turquoise shirt with textured, blue stripy patterns plastered all over it – almost like an abstract style. It makes the list just for being interesting and a unique looking design compared to other Tottenham kits.

8. 2016-17 third kit

The 2016-17 season was a positive one all round for Tottenham on the pitch. But also when it came to kits because this ‘mustard’ strip went down a hit.

Spurs have often been seen in yellow down the years for their third kits. And this was a classy design with a yellow base colour, black collar and dark pinstripes running vertically down the jersey.

7. 2012-13 third kit

This Under Armour kit was unlike anything Tottenham have played in before during the 2012-13 season under Andre Villas-Boas. It was half grey and navy with the two colours split down the middle and separated vertically.

Fans will remember seeing Gareth Bale wow for Spurs in this kit as he hit 26 goals before sealing a dream move to Real Madrid.

6. 2005-06 home kit

This throwback design from Kappa is also a fans’ favourite due to its eye-catching navy sleeves and matching detail on the sides of the kit.

This was Tottenham’s first full season under Martin Jol as they finished fifth and began pushing for Europe consistently. Some supporters will think of Robbie Keane firing in the goals wearing this jersey after finishing the campaign as their top scorer on 16 goals.

5. 2011-12 home kit

This was a season where Tottenham finished fourth with an impressive squad featuring the likes of Bale, Luka Modric, Rafael van der Vaart and Emmanuel Adebayor.

Unfortunately, that fourth-placed finish wasn’t good enough for Champions League football the next season due to Chelsea winning the competition and pipping them to the place. But the kit they wore for that season was certainly stylish even if it was minimalist – with an all-white design and collar.

4. 2018-19 away kit

If you ask a fan to look at a certain kit and think of a player, you’ll get a variety of different responses. But this iconic two-tone green kit will undoubtedly bring back memories of Lucas Moura netting his stunning hat-trick against Ajax wearing the shirt, which sent Spurs to the Champions League final.

Tottenham had a lot of joy wearing this particular strip. They also wore it in their dramatic Champions League quarter-final second leg victory against Manchester City, which they won on away goals after a 4-3 defeat on the night.

3. 1997-99 home kit

It doesn’t get too more classic than this Pony kit with the Hewlett Packard log on the front. A simple design primarily of white with a blue pinstripe V-neck collar.

There’s also blue streak running down the arms of the shirt, which has earned legendary status amongst the fanbase.

2. 2016-17 away kit

Another kit fans will have fond memories of for two reasons. First, it’s a smart and elegant design by Nike featuring a gold V-neck at the top with navy patches on the shoulders.

But secondly, Spurs enjoyed a superb season in this kit as they mounted a title challenge and eventually finishing second to Chelsea. They also completed an unbeaten season in their final year at White Hart Lane before it was demolished.

1. 1991-93 home kit

This kit, worn across two seasons to mark the start of Tottenham’s Premier League reign, is arguably the most iconic in their history.

They wore this kit as they won the 1991 FA Cup in the Umbro design, which features a navy collar with a white strip running through it. And who could forget that classic Holsten sponsor.
