Wolves Squawka Score Ratings 2025-26

With the 2025-26 season having come to a close, take a look at Wolves’ most-used XI from this season below and how the players have managed to perform according to the Squawka Score rating system.

The Squawka Score is a metric developed to assess a player’s performance related to other players in the same position. It’s a percentage rating from 0 to 100, calculated based on various per-90-minute statistics, including the obvious stats such as goals and assists, but also some more obscure ones that are more position-specific.

GK: Jose Sa – 56% – Sa didn’t rank well for key goalkeeping metrics including goals prevented, saves and save percentage. He’s not too bad on the ball, which is the only thing saving Sa from being lower down in the goalkeeping rankings for the season.

RWB: Jackson Tchatchoua – 56% – Tchatchoua wasn’t too bad when it comes to blocking opposition shots and he’s been decent at finding teammates with his crosses. But his defensive metrics really let him down.

CB: Yerson Mosquera – 48% – Although Mosquera sits in the 80-95th percentile for ground duel success rate, he is in the 20th percentile and below for aerial duel success rate.

CB: Santiago Bueno – 62% – Bueno ranked fairly well for his duels both in the air and on the ground, as well as tackles won. But his clearance numbers are low as are his possessions won in the defensive third.

CB: Toti Gomes – 47% – Gomes sits in the 80-95th percentile among centre-backs for interceptions in his own box. But he struggles in winning possession in the defensive third and has made an error leading to a goal.

LWB: Hugo Bueno – 56% – Bueno actually sits in the 95th percentile and above among full-backs for his open-play crosses completed per 90 minutes. He also wasn’t too bad on clearances and Expected Assists. But the Wolves man did rank poorly for his tackles won and being dispossessed in his own half.

RCM: Andre – 48% – Andre sits in the 60-80th percentile among central midfielders for his tackles won per 90 and his retention rate. His completed passes into the final third were worse though, as were his errors leading to shots.

LCM: Joao Gomes – 55% – Gomes ranked well for his tackles won per 90, and for his take-ons completed. But his lower interception and passing numbers let his overall score down.

RAM: Mateus Mane – 66% – Mane was a breath of fresh air in the Wolves midfield, providing attacking threat from deep. He ranked in the 80-95th percentile among central midfielders for his take-ons completed per 90 and intentional assists. Mane also ranked well for shots on target, big chances created and the percentage of his passes to the final third.

ST: Tolu Arokodare – 50% – Arokodare had fleeting moments of promise last season but they weren’t enough for a club who finished bottom of the table. The striker ranked poorly for key metrics including non-penalty post-shot Expected Goals.

LAM: Hwang Hee-chan – 40% –  Hwang sits in the lowest rankings for goals, non-penalty post-shot xG and non-penalty shots among other metrics.

Wolves set-piece specialists:

  • Penalties: Hwang Hee-chan
  • Free-kicks: Andre, Jhon Arias
  • Corners: Hugo Bueno, Andre, Jhon Arias
