Burnley Squawka Score ratings 2026/27
Burnley are the only side in the Championship without a win. Relegated from the Premier League after finishing 19th, Nicky Hayen’s side have drawn four and lost four of their eight, conceding 17 – more than anyone in the division. Four points from a possible 24 is a start that has already made the season a fight. Below, we take a look at Burnley’s most-used XI so far and how each player has performed, based on the Squawka Score rating system.
The Squawka Score is a metric developed to assess a player’s performance relative to other players in the same position. It is shown as a percentage, and it is worth knowing that 66% is average rather than 50% – a 70% is a good afternoon and 85% or above marks out one of the best players on the pitch. Each score is calculated from a range of per-90-minute statistics, taking in the obvious numbers such as goals and assists alongside some more obscure ones that are far more position-specific. RB: Oliver Sonne – 62% – Twenty-six passes into the penalty area leads the club, with six interceptions and 13 corners taken. Three big chances missed is the striking figure for a full-back and sums up Burnley’s wastefulness.
RCB: Kyle Walker – 63% – Fifty-three progressive passes and 56 passes into the final third both lead the club, with seven chances created and nine aerial duels won. At 36, Walker is still the most composed passer in the side; an error leading to a goal is the mark against him.
LCB: Max Alleyne – 65% – Thirty-four clearances and 22 possessions regained in his own third lead the club, with 46 progressive passes and an assist. Sixteen conceded on his watch is the worst figure at the club, though Alleyne has been among the more reliable defenders.
LB: Connor Roberts – 60% – Fifty-one passes into the final third and 14 possessions regained in his own third from five starts. Roberts has been steady without offering much going forward.
RCM: Ugo Raghouber – 63% – A goal, a club-leading 30 duels won, eight completed take-ons and 17 possessions regained in the middle third. An error leading to a goal and two yellow cards are the costs of how aggressively Raghouber plays.
LCM: Josh Laurent – 60% – A goal and 55 passes into the final third from six starts, but the season is defined by a red card. Laurent has not given Burnley the control they need in the middle.
AM: Aaron Ramsey – 64% – A goal from 19 shots is a poor conversion rate, and 15 touches in the opposition box is modest for a No.10. Seven tackles won leads the club, which says something about how much defending Burnley’s attackers are doing.
