Erik ten Hag has a strong squad to pick from as his Manchester United side visit Newcastle this weekend.
Manchester United Team News
Things are looking a bit more promising for Erik ten Hag, and Manchester United, than they were this time last week. Marcus Rashford (knock) and Raphael Varane (knock) are both rated at about 75% to start on Sunday, an improvement on their positions when the International break began. Things aren’t looking as hopeful for Anthony Martial (Groin), who is still a couple of weeks away from being fully fit.
On Rashford, ten Hag was hopeful he’ll be able to take part.
“I’ve got hope for Marcus [Rashford]”, he told the media on Friday.
“He’s trained but he had to do some treatment, he had to do some individual training and today he joined in with the group.
“We have one more day so I have good hope he will be available.
“We also have players like Bruno Fernandes, Jadon Sancho, Anthony Martial, Scott McTominay and Antony dos Santos, so we have enough players with the capabilities to score goals.”
Donny van de Beek (knee), Christian Eriksen (ankle) and Alejandro Garnacho (ankle) are all ruled out through injury and will play no part in the match against Newcastle, whilst Casemiro continues to serve his suspension following his red card against Southampton a fortnight ago.
