NFL Injury Report 2026: Every Team’s Out, Doubtful and Questionable

Every player unavailable for all 32 NFL teams, team by team. Two different things are listed for each club, and the difference matters. Out long term covers injured reserve, PUP and the reserve lists, which rule a player out for a minimum number of games or longer. Game designations are the Out, Doubtful and Questionable tags clubs file for a single game, and those land on Friday afternoon Eastern.

An NFL injury report is not a list of who is hurt. It is a list of who the club is prepared to say might not play, which is a narrower and more useful thing. A star sitting out Wednesday for rest appears; a starter playing through something painful often does not.

326 players were out long term across the league at the last refresh, an average of just over ten a club. San Francisco 49ers carry the heaviest load at 17. The designations are rebuilt each week once the reports land, and the long-term lists are refreshed alongside them whenever the rosters are re-read. Availability is one of the inputs behind our NFL power rankings, and the Friday designations are the last thing to move our weekly NFL picks before kickoff.

Week 9: the absences that matter

Updated Friday 6 November. 141 players carry a Week 9 game designation across 28 clubs: 64 Out, 6 Doubtful and 71 Questionable. Pittsburgh and Tennessee are on bye. Buffalo and Minnesota play Monday night and file their final report on Saturday, so neither appears yet. Jacksonville at Baltimore has been played, a 33-10 Jaguars win. Anything new since Week 8 carries a gold badge.

Seattle is the quarterback story. Sam Darnold is out with a quad injury for Arizona at Seattle, 4:25 p.m. ET Sunday, and the Seahawks are also without tackle Charles Cross (ankle) and guard Quenton Nelson (knee), who arrived from Indianapolis in a trade on 27 October. A quarterback and two offensive linemen out in one game is the kind of report that moves a spread before Sunday morning. Arizona has line problems of its own: Jayden Williams (knee) and Jon Gaines II (ankle) are out and Isaiah Adams is questionable inside his return window. Elsewhere at the position, Cleveland’s Deshaun Watson is questionable with a concussion after missing practice for the 1 p.m. ET game at New Orleans, and Philadelphia’s Tanner McKee is questionable with a chest injury against the Giants, with Jalen Hurts still on injured reserve. Baltimore has already played, but its room is worth knowing for Week 10: Lamar Jackson (thumb) went on injured reserve on Sunday, Tyler Huntley (toe) followed on Wednesday, and the Ravens traded for Jacoby Brissett from Arizona on Friday.

After quarterback, the line and the secondary. Detroit goes to Miami at 1 p.m. ET without centre Cade Mays (ankle), cornerback D.J. Reed (hip) or safety Kerby Joseph (knee), along with linebacker Jack Campbell (neck) and DJ Wonnum (concussion). Amon-Ra St. Brown is questionable with a rib injury. Green Bay visits New England at 4:25 p.m. ET with Micah Parsons out (knee) and two linemen, Sean Rhyan (ankle) and Travis Glover (knee), out with him; the Patriots list tackle Morgan Moses as questionable (foot). The Rams play at Washington at 1 p.m. ET with cornerback Jaylen Watson out and Trent McDuffie questionable after missing practice. Washington put Daron Payne and Javon Kinlaw on injured reserve on Tuesday, two defensive tackles in one move. San Francisco shows why receivers matter less than the headlines suggest: Mike Evans (ribs), Deebo Samuel Sr. (hamstring) and Christian Kirk (knee) are all out against Las Vegas, three big names, but the position is deep enough on most rosters that the line rarely moves as far as the news. The Jets are without Garrett Wilson (concussion) at Kansas City, and A.J. Brown (ankle) is out for New England.

Coming back. Baltimore activated T.J. Tampa Jr. and Dallas activated P.J. Locke from injured reserve last Saturday, so both are off the long-term list. Las Vegas activated Jack Bech and Carter Runyon, Seattle activated Jadarian Price, New England activated tackle Marcus Bryant, and Atlanta brought James Pearce Jr. back from suspension; Pearce is questionable with a back injury but practised fully. Sixteen more players had their return windows opened this week, Myles Garrett of the Rams among them, which means they can practise but are not yet back on the active roster. Buffalo released C.J. Gardner-Johnson on Tuesday, a day after activating him from suspension, which is a roster decision, not an injury.

What the designations actually mean

Two systems run side by side, and conflating them is the most common mistake readers make.

Roster designations are long term. IR means injured reserve, out for a minimum number of games. IR with a return designation means the club expects them back this season. PUP is a physically unable to perform designation carried in from the offseason. The reserve and exempt lists cover players unavailable for reasons that are not always injury, and a suspension is not an injury at all, which is why it is labelled separately here.

Game designations are weekly, and clubs file them on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday for a Sunday game. Only the Friday version carries the game status.

• Out. Will not play. No ambiguity, and the only designation you can bet on with confidence.
• Doubtful. The league’s own guidance is that this means unlikely, and in practice the large majority of doubtful players do not play.
• Questionable. Genuinely uncertain, and the one that moves markets on Sunday morning rather than Friday. Roughly half of questionable players suit up, which is why the inactives list 90 minutes before kickoff is the one that settles it.
