Liverpool are set to complete the signing of Preston defender Ben Davies today.
Reports claim the Reds have agreed a fee and the 25-year-old will undergo a medical before joining the Premier League champions for a fee in the region of £2million.
It comes after Jurgen Klopp’s men were linked with a late move for Marseille defender Duje Caleta-Car.
Meanwhile, Leicester are expected to make a late swoop in the winter window, with Southampton also attempting to do business right up to the wire.

Liverpool have reportedly agreed a £2million fee for Preston defender Ben Davies.
The Reds stepped up their search for a new defender after Fabinho and Joel Matip joined Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez on the treatment table.
Now the Telegraph claims Liverpool have struck a deal for the 25-year-old, with Sepp van den Berg moving in the opposite direction on loan.
Davies is expected to have his Liverpool medical today.
Liverpool came close to Caleta-Car deal

Liverpool were reportedly on the verge of signing Marseille defender Duje Caleta-Car before the move broke down.
The Mirror claims the Reds were forced to to turn their attention to Preston defender Davies after the plug was pulled on a deal for Caleta-Car.
Reports suggest a deal was struck with Marseille and the 24-year-old was due to fly in to finalise the transfer before it abruptly collapsed.
Leicester lead race for Maitland-Niles

Leicester are set to launch a late move for Arsenal’s AInsley Maitland-Niles, according to reports.
The 23-year-old id desperate to leave the Gunners before Monday’s deadline to improve his chances of making Gareth Southgate’s England squad for Euro 2020.
The Foxes are reportedly keen to negotiate a loan deal with the option to buy, though they face competition from Southampton, West Brom and Newcastle.
Maitland-Niles has made just five starts for Arsenal this term and is desperate to get more game time ahead of the summer. The Mirror claims Leicester have indicated they want to strike a deal for the versatile England international, who sees his long-term future in midfield.
Josh King to Southampton?

West Ham target Josh King could be about to seal a deadline day move to St. Mary’s.
The Athletic claims Saints are in negotiations over a permanent deal for King, who is out of contract in the summer. The transfer would involved a “small fee” while Shane Long could go in the opposite direction on loan with an option to buy.
The Hammers were the bookmakers’ favourites to land King for much of the window, but David Moyes said on Sunday he didn’t expect anyone to follow Jesse Lingard through the door at the London Stadium.
Everton and Fulham have also registered an interest in King after Bournemouth lowered their asking price at the eleventh hour.
