Transfer news: Militao to Spurs, Nketiah latest – today’s football gossip

Tottenham are reportedly considering a move for Real Madrid defender Eder Militao during the January Transfer Window with Harry Winks in talks over a possible loan exit.

West Ham meanwhile are reportedly weighing up a move for Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah with the Hammers are on the hunt for a new striker after offloading Sebastien Haller to Ajax.

Tottenham in for Militao?

Tottenham are interested in signing Eder Militao on loan from Real Madrid this month, according to reports in Spain.

Real paid €50m to sign the defender from Porto in 2019 but the 22-year-old has made just two La Liga appearances for Los Blancos this term. Mundo Deportivo report Jose Mourinho is an admirer of the the Brazil international who could see him as an option at the back this month.

Spurs have been linked with a number of defenders heading into January with Toby Alderweireld now being linked with a move back to Netherlands with PSV Eindhoven reportedly making contact over a move.

Winks in talks over Valencia loan

Valencia are working on a deal to sign Harry Winks on loan from Tottenham, according to reports in Spain.

AS report Los Che are eager to strengthen in January but financial restrictions mean they are limited to loan deals.

Spurs are open to the idea of Winks leaving on a temporary basis with the midfielder keen for greater first team opportunities that may enhance his chances of being named in next summer’s European Championships.

Tottenham however are asking for a loan fee, according to the report, slowing the deal down despite Winks’ willingness to make the move.

Arsenal starlet Eddie Nketiah is on West Ham’s list of transfer targets this month.

With Sebastien Haller joining Ajax for £20m on Friday, David Moyes has been given the funds from that move to bring in more firepower.

Josh King and Boulaye Dia are also targets for the club but the Evening Standard report West Ham are keen to know whether the Gunners would be open to selling the 21-year-old, who has entered the final 18 months of his deal with the club.

Arsenal move on from Aouar?

A move for Lyon midfielder Houssem Aouar is slipping down the pecking order at Arsenal, according to reports.

The Gunners were believed to have made at least one offer for the France international during the summer transfer window with Lyon standing firm in their valuation of their player, said to be £44m.

Arsenal went onto sign Thomas Partey from Atletico Madrid but the club remain short of a creative spark in midfield, highlighted by the club’s technical director in early December.

But according to The Athletic, Aouar is no longer a priority with other players are now ahead of the Frenchman on the scouting list.
