Serie A most assists: 2019/20 standings as Atalanta’s Papu Gomez leads race

Although the Serie A goalscorers often dominate headlines, the players providing the assists cannot be forgotten.
Going into the final weekend of Italy’s top flight, it was Atalanta’s excellent Papu Gomez who led the way on 16 assists. He has six in 11 appearances since the restart, although the 32-year-old failed to record one in his last five matches of the season.
Gomez finishes one assist clear of Luis Alberto at the top of the list, though. The Lazio midfielder led proceedings for the first half of the season after a blistering start but just four assists since the turn of the year saw him drop off.
Alberto and Gomez are joined by Domenico Berardi as the only three players to have recorded at least 10 assists but things get a lot closer as the list goes on. Three players are tied on nine assists and a further three on eight, including Alexis Sanchez, who has played fewer than 898 minutes this season.
An impressive batch of nine players then follow on seven assists.
So who has made the top 10?
