When things go wrong for the men between the sticks, they go terribly wrong, and there is nowhere to hide.

Every successful Premier League side down the years has had a reliable stalwart keeping watch behind their back four – or back three if you’re Antonio Conte – with many going on to have long, trophy-laden careers on these shores. And the current crop of goalkeepers in England’s top-flight boasts some of the top men in Europe.

However, only 16 shot-stoppers have kept over 100 clean sheets since the Premier League started in 1992.
