With Declan Rice swapping Republic of Ireland for England recently, the line between which national team you should, can or must play for has become quite blurred.

It is not uncommon nowadays to see players switching their allegiances before they pick up a competitive cap to either test themselves with a bigger nation, or drop down to a more suitable level.
