Things may not be quite as hectic as we’ve grown accustomed to, but transfer deadline day is still an exciting prospect as teams attempt to get last-minute deals over the line.
For some clubs the final 24 hours represent a chance to either get the player they’ve been chasing all window or tape over holes that have appeared in their squad late on.
Over the years we’ve seen some late deals work, like Luis Suarez to Liverpool in January 2011, and some not, such as Fernando Torres to Chelsea in the same window. And January 2023’s deadline day is looking to be a thriller.
