Quiz: Pele and Raul? Rooney and Stoichkov? Name the club linking these two legends

In football, you’ll often find an inexplicable link between icons of the game. An unwavering bond that ties two or more legends together because at some point, past or present, they represented the same club.
And by ‘represent’, we don’t just mean ‘played for’. Sometimes such club connections are just plain bonkers. What links the legendary Johan Cruyff with Elton John, for example? Former North American Soccer League club Los Angeles Aztecs, of course.
The once California-based club was part-owned by Elton John (so he was technically also George Best’s boss for a spell) up till 1976. A couple years later, they would sign Cruyff for the 78/79 season. And sorry to disappoint any Watford fans reading, but Cruyff did not don the Hornet colours during some secret exhibition game arranged by Sir Elton.
This is an extreme example, of course. So if you were already aware, we expect top marks on this test of obscure football knowledge. Full disclosure: it’s not for the fair-weather fans.
