The 2020/21 Champions League is only three rounds in, but already we’ve had heartache, upsets and an eight-goal thriller to keep us entertained.
The congested schedule has seen European football played out on a weekly basis rather than fortnightly (as is the norm) and, before many of us had time to catch our breath, Shakhtar followed up a 3-2 win over Real Madrid with a 6-0 loss to Monchengladbach.
This unpredictability has us on the edge of our seats but managers must be pulling their hair out. They will need their captains to step up to the fore and bring some stability back to the utter madness that is 2020/21.
